we talking about world class players you put Ortega’s name. Do you think you are the only one who watched football in the 90s/early 2000s?
Leave am. Who know Ortega apart from those of us who watched him then but everybody knows Pele and Maradona because they are the exceptional ones. That's the point being made but trust good Joe to make a distinction and then needless argument ensues

They won't find it difficult. That's why they are geniuses. No matter what they would find a way to stand out. It's in their star to stand out. That's just the way it is. Because judging by their personal lifestyle sef many of them ought to be failures but still just because it's in them to shine, they shined brighter than their peers.

Haaland is standing out. Rodri is standing out. Foden is standing out.

That is the point I am making. It is now more difficult to standout in the old way. Tactical defending has made it difficult. So players standout other ways. However, some interpret it as dearth of talent. Instead of finding a way to shine.

Finito.

That is not the point being made. The point is that Nigeria has a big gap when it comes to creativity and one said that MIKEL AND OKOCHA are generational talents. Then equated Maradona and Pele.

Now read it again and get the point.

I disagreed and said that other countries have developed talents and pointed out that other countries are not in that mindset. Listed a host of players. They may not be Maradona or Pele but they are exceptional talents.

Finally, people being ignorant of quality players does not make players low quality. Argentina is a country known for developing brilliant 10s, to the best of my knowledge, from like 1996 to 2002, Ortega wore 10 for Argentina.

So please, don't try to play down his quality because people don't know.

Those defenders gave hard tackles because their defending skills were weak. Quality defenders today will take those balls without even tackling.

We are talking about exceptional talents he's mentioning regular players. Can you imagine Rodri. So one will mention Ronaldinho as an exceptional player, then if I ask you to mention your own, you will now mention Rodri. Chai

Ortega was 10 for Argentina for years. He took that 10 after Maradona. Keep in mind the players he won the ten ahead.

Because we do not produce them on a regular so they are exceptional. Can the same be said of Rodri? Can the same be said of Pastore when compared to their national peer like Maradona? No. So there was no need to mention them and bring them into the conversation since you understood that we were comparing our own exceptional talents to that of other countries.

That is the problem. We have not even gone of base and we are calling people that can't even have careers like Thiago Alcantara generational talents. When countries are producing David Silva and more.

You've even gone too far with the Hall of Fame. Just Neymar Jr as a youngie showed his god, Spain shege at 2013 Confed Cup

The defenders were poor then, that is why they were rough.
They were not rough because they were poor. They were rough because they were more manly. To make see this point go and watch boxing of 60s,70s 80s and 90s. Compare it to today's, you'd see that those of the past were more rugged, more brutal.

I am mentioning them to show other countries are producing exceptional talents over and over again. We are here calling players of that class generational. We should know we are not working or searching.

Sir, does 2 or 3 seasons ago qualify for modern Era? I am seeing one video of Salah on YouTube disgracing City defenders to score o. Any good one is Mitomo's goal a couple of weeks ago sir. Even our own Aribo scored a spectacular solo goal against Villarael albeit in a friendly . And sir, it has always been difficult to score such goals, such are never meant to be easy.
Even Maradona himself did not score that solo dribble exceptional goal against England on a regular basis. It was a one time goal that encapsulates his genius.

Brute or Brains the aim was to stop strikers. Same end product, different means.

Let your current best defenders come and hold a candle to people like Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Cafu, Baresi etc

The likes of Cafu and Maldini lack the kind of tactical education defenders get today. Haba.
