And my definition was based on the Bible. The Bible shows that our whole being is our soul.
Our life start from the point of conception, in other words, we were already a soul at the initial stage of our life.
I'd never say a full grown chicken has the same composition as an egg but its life undoubtedly started as an egg.

You cannot explain the life cycle of a chicken with mentioning the egg. No matter what name you call it at different stages of development, the chicken life started from the egg.
Therefore the egg is the full grown chicken.
