You're still paying over bloated allowances to those NASS members from the ever dwindling purse of the federation and you're here talking about support on economic crisis, man, let be freaking real with ourselves and stop this game of musical chairs. The collaborations they need now that's if they are ever serious about the economy is to reduce or cut down totally the perks aka allowances associated with all of the NASS members and equally same gestures should also be extended to the other arms of government. Enough of robbing Peter to pay Paul, let Peter eat the fruit of his labor while he's sweating it out and let Paul do the same or go home. E go beta no dey sound interesting again Any other collaboration na Marlians inspired. 1 Like |

Where are those idiots supporting Apc, always thinking Tinubu is a special being who always know what he is doing and has vast knowledge is all aspect of life especially politics. I have always know that he is clueless, most of his ideas are those applied in olden days and no more applicable in the reality of today. Now he is confused, when you see them campaigning you will think they have the solution to the country problems. They blame PDP from the outside thinking its easy to run a good government. When they enter they see the reality face to face. And now they are calling on Senate. Is Senate the Ministers you appointed? Very soon they will call on judiciary, pastors and even citizens, confused souls |

Kukutente23: What transpired is the Executiive/FG (VP Shetimma) appealing to Legislature (Senators and Reps, upper and lower chambers respectively) to set aside partisan politics and work together collectively to achieve the Prosperity of Nigeria. I took my time to explain this because ignorance is easily cured/solved by actually taking your time to either study personally or learn from those who actially study. If your have the requisite knowledge on a matter, that's when you can decide what is right or wrong and also have good judgement on how to proffer the needed solution or acknowledge those who do. I hope this helps you realise how important education is. So that you won't continue to prove the whiltes right, who have posited that to hide a thing from a black man, keep it inside a book. Good luck to you. |

The National Assembly represents us not you. The extent to which they 'cooperate' with you is the extent to which your policies, programs and positions are geared towards moving the people forward. Anything else is precisely why we are where we are. I cannot imagine why any sane citizen will desire that any present of future government be given a legislative free pass or blank cheque after what the Buhari led government did, turning the word 'cooperation' to acquiescence and then onto autocracy with devastating effects on every aspect of life in this country. |

Myer: Oga, the government can achieve 'collectivism' through superior ideas or press through wonky ideas through superior arguments. You and I did some debating in grade school. We did not sit down and appeal for the other side to cooperate with us to win the contest. Why is it that politics in Nigeria CANNOT ACCOMMODATE ALTERNATIVE IDEAS AND THRASH THEM OUT THROUGH DEBATE. Why are we so feudal in nature to see the word of the 'King' as law always. Democracy is structured so that all sides of a matter can be assessed for many reasons. 1. So that that government is always taking the best decision. Even your holy books say so, and I quote, 'In an abundance of counselors, there is wisdom'. No single person knows it all. The fate of a country is not best served intellectually or other wise by the wisdom of a single person or a few people, but by the collective wisdom of all citizens, the legislators represent. 2. So that government protects or accommodates the interest of the vast majority of people. And this is critical in running a successful government. By supplying gas and air to all the pistons, the engine runs fine, friction and constant agitation is dampened. When matters are debated and won by superior reasoning all parties leave satisfied, the victors are humble and the losers are not dejected. For no two people blinded by sentiment can describe an elephant adequately by touch. They need to SEE. Debate opens eyes, opens minds. It brings the citizens (NLC and all) to the reality of the situation of their country, thus making governance easy. I can go on and on. But the facts are clear. We are not serving ourselves right when we cannot sit down and reason together. When we want the views of only a select few to count. It resulted in a disastrous government just ended and yet we want to start another autocratic journey, haba. The only place where politics mixes with governance is in a dynamic legislature. It is where for instance those who wanted to save and cut expenditure as a capitalist ideology will have clashed with those who wanted to borrow and spend on socialist programs last government. If the Lawan 9th Assembly had permitted robust debates we will probably have met somewhere in the middle, perhaps far lower debts, less subsidy and smaller government... whatever, but surely not as bad as it is today and most of all Nigerians will have been onboard and satisfied government did its best. 2 Likes |

Prince111111: when you borrowed to the turn that interest paid each month exceed what you earn monthly... what's that called? Nigeria uses 95% of revenue to service debt as at 2022 October and as at July its now 99% when Goodluck left debt was 7 billion but the last administration took it to 42 billion.

Kukutente23: Even with all my shalaye you still don't get it? This is why I hardly bother to shalaye to Obidients. The ignorance has eaten deep. Only in Nigeria will some one be a graduate and still be ignorant of basic knowledge. Our Educational system really needs a major overhauling at least for the sake of the future ones. |

Re: FG Seeks National Assembly’s Support On Economic Crisis, Others by Myer(m): 11:11pm On Sep 23, 2023 |
Kukutente23: Here's my last comment on this; NASS comprises of Senate and HoR This appeal by FG (Executive) is for Senate and HoR (Legislature) who are members of NASS to work together in synergy for our collective Prosperity by setting aside partisan politics. Stop confusing us with your confusion. Your half knowledge is where the lacuna is. |
