Obasanjo's Ostracism And What He Would Have Learnt From Sanusi Lamido by DomPerignon: 12:05am On Sep 24, 2023
In response to a question posed by a journalist enquiring if he intended to go into partisan politics, following his suspension and sack as CBN Governor, former Emir Lamido Sanusi Lamido responded that he was focused on being appointed as the next Emir of Kano. When told by the journalist if it wasn't better for him to go into partisan politics and run for the office of the President, Sanusi replied that ; "anyone can be President of Nigeria but not everyone can be Emir of Kano".

Obasanjo might not have been privy of that interview when he made that careless and reckless statement that he being a former President enjoyed seniority in protocol over every Oba or king in Yoruba land.

Now that the Yoruba Council of Obas has rightly stripped Obasanjo of all chieftaincy titles and traditional office roles, Obasanjo should reflect deeply in those very wise words from Sanusi Lamido.

The British came and left . The Obas are still there.

We have had several leaders from Prime Minster to Head of States to Presidents that come and go as the political situation dictates but the Obas are still there.

I am begining to believe the rumour that Obasanjo's real roots are not of Yoruba but from that blighted region across the Niger where respect for elders are absent.

No other former General , HoS and President whom Obasanjo imbibes all titular nomenclatures will dare ridicule and dismiss the traditional authorities of their forefathers.

The Obas respected Obasanjo as an elder and chief in Yoruba land by obeying his command for them to standup and never imagined he would insult their position.

To me , this last display by Obasanjo proves he was and is never a Yoruba man or even a Nigerian for that matter as no person from Nigeria will dare publicly insult their cultural elders in public .

We know the people who have this trait in them and they refuse to identify as Nigerian.

A bastard will always point at his father's house with his left hand.

I know you have no respect for your elevated British appointed warrant chiefs who were the prominent slave dealers in their time to whom your carricarture kings are descended from after Gowon officially elevated and recognised them as monarchies , but that should never be a yardstick for you to judge other proud kings in Nigeria for you have none of your own in the first place.

A bastard will never understand the pride of having a father.

I am not the least surprised that it is only you rudderless people from across the divide that have stuck your necks for Obasanjo. For I know the level of inferiority you suffer seeing others having a heritage worth preserving.

I would have said I am sorry for you but that will be a lie.

Are you not working yourself into fits just to avoid talking about the disgrace Ganduje meted to a whole Emir Sanusi, while hypocritically talking about how an octogenarian, two time president and multiple decorated traditional title hilder told his younger brothers to stand up for him? Talk about it, northerners won't swallow you. Respond to what I wrote and stop cowering behind your wife in fear.

But I understand you, you come from a region who will like to Bury their heads in the sand or blame their neighbours for their own woes which they caused for themselves. Continue to castigate your grandfather mates, later you tell.me your tribe has respect for elders.

The only reason why you gbouns hate Obasanjo with all the bile in the world is because he is not a tribal bigot like your drug messiah; and also because he doesn't support him.

And the only reason you guys now suddenly love Obasanjo is because of his latest disrespect of Youruba kings .

Have you forgotten that Obasanjo received your surrender that ended both your Biafra and the civil war ?

Ohu.

This is how you were all supporting Buhari during the senseless naira redesign policy .

The Ohu only loves those who oppress him.

A real thorough bred slave who loves his slave masters like the way he reveres his Jewish masters.

You are truly the sons of Ham descended from the seed of Cain through Canaan.

Kings can be compared to local government chairmen and any governor can decide to remove them and nothing will happen. They hold ceremonial and symbolic power that ends at their domain but they're answerable to governors and presidents.

Sanusi cannot be the president of Nigeria and not any in the next decade and not anybody can be the president of Nigeria. Sanusi would choose being governor or president over being an emir, but being an emir is by far easier for him reason he's sticking to it

Name a king that's not under his state government.

Sultans and Emirs are some of the most powerful kings in Nigeria but they've been removed by government before

It will be very difficult for you people to make Obasanjo unpopular

Obasanjo has paid his dues

Asking the kings to respect hierarchy is no crime

Obasanjo himself has demonstrated time and again respect for the traditional rulers

asking this generation of kings not to sell their heritage for a porridge is some expected from a man who knows about traditions

So, look for another propaganda abeg, this won't sail!!!
