Legend!!!! One of Westerhoff's discoveries!!!!! Made SE for Algiers because the "stars" Sunday Eboigbe, Keshi, Sofoluwe for some reason couldn't make AFCON 90. Uche, Friday Elastic Elahor, Daniel Amokachi, Ben Iroha, Moses Kpakor,Alloy Agu, Thompson Oliha, Isaac Semitoje are notable discoveries from that set who stayed around for a while. Ayo Ogunlana, Toyin Ayinla, Baldwin Bazuaye, Ademola Adesina, Andrew Uwe, Herbert Anijekwu, Peter Obanor, Emma Okocha were some of the other players in that team that I remember. Of course Goals Father Rashidi Yekini was ever present too

Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal will insist on Victor Osimhen and will offer him a five-year contract on £39m a year and meet Napoli's asking price of £173m. 🇸🇦

(Source: Gazetta dello Sport)

Osimhen abeg if this above is true avoid the temptation, atleast stay for europe for another 4 seasons before moving to the Arabian peninsula 🥺

Contrary to others on this thread, my main concern is not Victor's legacy - that's up to him to decide. What I'm truly concerned about is if such a move will adversely affect his performances for the national team.

10 10 Bright Omokaro wasn't discovered by Westerhoff and didn't even play under him. Rather he featured in Manfred Hoener's 88 squad and played a lot for my favorite team Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

the Saudi league is competitive now unlike years back but my worry is that he is still young to make such move

He has atleast another 4-5 seasons to perform at the very top in europe.

I no go lie the money is tempting and I won’t be surprised if he accepts the offer

Napoli body language is simple! We were there when you were injured, got covid, lose form etc., then you had just one good season for us and you started misbehaving. Ordinary tiktok video you are angry and want us to apologize? Did you apologize for collecting salary even when you were not playing? Boy better be careful, we no send your papa ooo. Go ask Kalidou Koulibaly.
One thing I'm confident of is Napoli will be on the losing side if he moves to Madrid because he has nothing to prove as an elite so clubs will line up.

While on the other hand, Napoli should kiss their glory days goodbye.

They should kiss their scuddeto hopes goodbye for the next few years at least.

They know that deep down.

Victor was offended openly by his own employers on social media, which is very childish and disrespectful; Coming from a whole organization for that matter.

It's really disappointing.

He rightfully deserves an apology from his club because he himself is a brand on his own and he has a reputation to protect.

I'm sure this is happening because he is black/ African. They wouldn't try this with their own or a white skinned star such as Haaland.😡

I support Osimhen... He a big player, he's one of the few engine rooms of the team's progress. So why should he not react to such an illegal treatment?😡

I go with Osimhen jare. For me his reaction is normal.

Ex-England international Carlton Palmer has predicted that Barcelona-linked midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will leave Leicester City in the January transfer window.

Barely a month after the end of the summer transfer window, the Super Eagles midfielder is being linked with a move away from the Foxes.

Besides Barcelona, Athletico Madrid and Juventus are also monitoring the siuation of the Nigeria international , while Bayern Munich had him on their radar in the summer window.

Ndidi is running into the final months of his contract with the one-time Premier League champions, and there are no signs that he wants to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.

Palmer has suggested that the Nigerian midfielder will leave Leicester City in the winter transfer window

"Barcelona along with several other top European clubs including Bayern Munich, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are all keeping tabs on Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi," he told Football League World.

"It was believed that the 26-year-old would've been sold following Leicester's relegation to the Championship, but they were asking for too much money.

"Ndidi has started all of Leicester's eight Championship games so far this season as they sit top of the Championship.

"The problem Leicester have is that Ndidi is in the final year of his contract."

They don't know which league they're going to be in so it's difficult for them, I'm sure they would offer him a contract to protect themselves still only being 26.

"But I think it's going to very difficult to get him to commit to signing a new deal, at Christmas he could be going to a club to play Champions League football.

"So the likelihood in my opinion is that he'll probably leave in the January transfer window so Leicester can avoid losing him for nothing next summer."

Ndidi has been in stellar form since the start of the campaign for Enzo Maresca's side, registering four goal contributions in 11 games across all competitions.

Maresca will be hoping that Ndidi will stay at Leicester City until the end of the campaign as they seek to return to the Premier League.

Most Africans don’t look up to us as they used to. Naija Rep don fall.

Nomyth:
I don't know why Nigeria doesn't pull her full weight in CAF politics. We are just too laid back.

Losing the hosting rights of 2025 and 2027 is a slap on us. Big countries don't take such rejections with kid gloves.

England went berserk when they lost the 2006 World Cup hosting rights to Germany and again in 2018 when they lost to Russia. Even our own Adamu was consumed in the process.

All the big countries that lost the 2022 hosting rights to Qatar didn't take it lightly and took a swipe at fifa and Qatar and even launched investigations of their own questioning the selection process.

Here in Africa, CAF really like embarrassing us whenever we make hosting bids.

We bidded for the 2013 Afcon, only for CAF to give it to Libya and 2015 to SA and told us we will be on standby in case any of them fails to host. Now, Libya was plunged into crisis and couldn't host the 2013 edition and instead of CAF to cede to Nigeria as arranged, they said Libya and S A should swap and Nigeria should still be on standby.

Eventually, Libya could not host the 2015 edition and CAF had to give it Morocco. Again, Morocco could not host because of ebola outbreak and caf had to give it to equatorial guinea. Where was Nigeria in all of these?

All the major countries on the continent have hosted the Afcon 2 times over while Nigeria has only hosted once and gotten another co host.

Tunisia hosted 2 within 8 years, civ is hosting for the 2nd time, even Ghana that we co-hosted with has hosted again.

We should hold our marker down and stop taking this kind of disrespect from CAF.
