In a sane country when the DSP should be sanctioned and questioned on how she got money to purchase such an expensive phone, but in Nigeria that is not a normal circumstance, the reverse will always be the case. Yeye NPF 2 Likes |

this nation Nigeria is presently been governed by thugs and hooligans all parading as law enforcement agencies, lawmakers, governors, etc . The country is even having a president who is been accused of being a drug lord with a fake academic certificate. the only difference between them is that one set of thugs works for themselves and they are not paid by the government to carry out their daily duties while the second set is on the payroll of the government, aside from the uniform there is no difference |

adeomos: He had to part with N2000.00 instead of the N100.00 they demanded initially ! Is there any sense in that ? The truth is that he paid that money because he knew he was guilty of an offence ! I expected him to stand his ground till the very end, especially since he claimed that the document the police were asking him to produce did not exist under the law ! He should have dared the police to take him to the court ! 1 Like |

You are surely a learner. Soon (if your in Nigeria), you will find yourself in similar situation with the Nigerian police. You will so wish you give them that small money on the road, and go peacefully by your surviving business. Their intention is to basically slow you down, stress you, and delay you, and frustrate you. It gets even more expensive and you start regretting things when you start paying a lawyer. You may be discharged as innocent at the end of the day (if in the cause of the case, something else you wish to stay in the dark is not eventually revealed), but you may not get that your car key (or other properties) back from the police for months! Police officers think say the youths don forget or they think the youths are smiling? Most youths are living there life legitimately online and when they dress well n choose the better life they have work hard for, some 'envious police officers go begin worry them.... Those youths hustling legitimately should stand there ground and live life to the fullest! |

Are police not part of Nigerians? If the government ban bribery now, these people will ll still be out there saying the country is too tough and people have to survive. It's just like people who want development but don't want the govt to pull down shanti towns. Unexplained wealth should be a policy not just for civil servants but for all Nigerians. |

oomm: To overhaul is an understatement there should be massive retirement, retrenchment and dismissal, no food in the country they should send them back to their village and let them go and farm since wearing police uniform turn them a demon nothing wrong to go and display the demonised nature with cassava, maize and groundnut in as much it bring more food to our market it is a welcome idea because police can never change send them home enmass is the only way... |

DesChyko: Macaroni is talking twaddle. Everyone profiles including banks and any well run company. Nobody has the time to interrogate everyone they meet. Hence the need for avatars or profiles. Fb delivers ads to users based on user profiles. You can't even build decent software without detailed use cases. What he should say is the profile that people who dress in a particular are criminals needs to be refined. Unfortunately for him the police are not statisticians- if something works 30% of the time - they will use it. 30% success is huge in certain occupations - security being one of them. In fact the issue is not about being profiled. Profiling is normal. Even women and men do profiling right here on NL. What is wrong is the treatment of people who they profile. You cannot shake people down and take their money and possession just because you think they are so and so. It takes a bit more time to be exact especially in public statements ...but it is worth its weight in gold. |
