1.Allow power companies set and charge their own prices so that they can pay for improvements, and every Nigerian pays for the power.

2.Allow things like free floating of the naira, end corruption, end looting, etc

3.Improve our tax to gdp ratio

4.Invest massively in vocational and techincal education

5.Incentives for investors to set up companies. Local and international

6.Invest heavily in rail transport

7.Reduce things like tarrifs on components, etc for industrial related things



I've dropped my ideas, where is yours? Poeple like you and the APC just want us to share oil money equitably...oil money that is not enough.

Let me share something with you. Rice is expensive now because the state govs mopped up rice for palliatives that was announced. So many rice Mills right now are idle because farming activities which used to peak in this period has reduced due to insecurity and high cost of farming inputs. I know a mill that will not work until November. So how's that policy that cripples something as basic as farming a good thing in a developing nation? That's the question world bank is answering with this report. Those guys did Nigerians dirty

There are currently no restrictions on electricity tariffs. Whatever increments there have been in the near past, government has had to partially shoulder some of that cost on behalf of citizens. Why? Electricity generation has stalled since 2015. Distribution itself has been an even bigger problem. You cannot keep charging people for services they do not enjoy. Even the simple task of supplying prepaid meters to Nigerian homes, has been riddled with corruption. Half of Nigeria is still on estimated billing. And that is happening because those companies consider that an avenue for sharp practices. Prepaid meters are supposed to come free, but today they cost 105K and even when you struggle to buy, it sometimes takes them months to come deliver and install. These are just a few of the corrupt practices happening in the energy sector. But one small boy sits somewhere and believes the companies should be given a leeway to further rob the masses through undeserved tariffs.

I can write an epistle to puncture holes in every single point you raised up there, but it will amount to an exercise in futility, because you clearly know next to nothing about anything in the Nigerian reality.

Exactly the point.

The foundational basics that should act as props for the functionality of industries and companies are non-existent. We are not even considering other extant policies that are supposed to act as buffers to shield these industries from feeling the negative impacts of other unforeseen circumstances.

This man just entered Aso rock and picked the two most popular issues according to public opinion polls, acted swiftly on them, without recourse to proper reasoning as to the resonating effects of those moves.

It's like waking up today and going to buy a car because you heard your neighbour talking about wanting to buy one cause of its benefits. No thoughts as to how you'll shoulder costs of maintenance. How is it the fault of the leadership of Nigerians have a fixation for imported items?

For instance we have good quality local rice but Nigerians would prefer to buy foreign rice just so they can brag about it.

There are also companies that produce good quality floor tiles(I'm talking from experience here) but Nigerians will prefer to import floor tiles just so they can brag that they built their house with imported raw material.

Nigerians will go to the supermarket and pick foreign biscuits over Nigerian made biscuits etc
After depleting scarce forex on importation of rubbish we're wondering why our currency is constantly loosing value.

The problem is with the inferiority complex of Nigerians generally not the leadership!
