Buratai is still walking free.
The accused wanted to feign illness so as to avoid prosecution. The court would have granted him perpetual injunction from prosecution.

This Mohammed guy was simply too greedy and it seemed to have made him extremely dumb.

How will a soldier contribute 5m towards buying a plot of co-operative land and you now embezzle a portion of it. Of course, subscribers would be furious. There must have been outcries against his misdeeds.

A lot of it was too brazen, completely unafraid he'd ever be prosecuted.

“During the court martial, Major General UM Mohammed was brought into the court in a wheel chair but President of the court, Major Gen Myan said all neccesary medical checks were carried out on the accused and all proved that he was fit to stand trial”.

Idiot who tried to make himself a Dino Melaye. He entered on a wheel chair thinking that he was facing regular court judges. His fellow Major generals exposed him. In those days, his judgement would have been death sentence. Now he will serve a long sentence with hard labour. If e like make e carry wheel chair enter jail.

This is the very question I always ask.
A bad structure, that needs complete overhaul.

But it is in the nature of a feudal society such as ours to arrogate power absolutely without control.
In our system of thought the so called Head MUST be the final check of the fidelity of any and every system.

While in other climes what we call a common secretary can literally put a President in jail.
When you have power shared through all classes of society the money that the lower class doesn't have is balanced by the power they have.

That is why Hunter Biden is on trial.
That is why ex-President Trump is on trial.

That is why everyone walks in his lane and respects each other as bonafide citizens to make things work.
Only restructuring can end the feudal system we operate and develop this country.

When I told some folks here that we don't need generals in present Nigeria, some people think I don't know what I am saying! These guys don't do shiiit, they are not productive, however, Nigeria is producing many of them annually just to pay them jumbo benefits after retirement. And people expect naira not to fall against the dollar.

And they steal without remorse. They are in some open competition with the politicians..

There are many mad Nigerians and they don't even know they are mad because they don't roar the streets naked. If not, why would a sane man loot over $1 million in his office and believe that nobody would know about it?

Even those who court-martialled the thief in uniform aren't any better. Their saving grace is that they haven't been caught yet. Na who dem catch be thief na.

If a policeman arrests you on the streets of Newyork or London for an offence, who are you going to call to free you.... no one.
Because hardly anyone has a link to the man doing his job. He is barely answerable to anyone but to a system that specifies his task.

A feudal society on the other hand is all about linkages or in plain terms, loyalties. All the criminal has to do is to find who is the 'Oga' of the man in authority and he will be free.

It is systemic and no nation can develop with this system in place.

thisbis the very reason why I love the military, when the evidence against you is damaging, for get it, you're done. There is no sentiment anywhere.

Imagine the general entering the court in a wheel chair? Lol. Military trials is very different from civilian trials. Kudos to them. 👍

Corruption is part of our national life, no past or present public office holder will say he/ she is not corrupt. Just imagine how some one becomes so rich within a short period of time just because he occupy public office. Nigeria is a corrupt nation where truth has no value.

If it had been a Major Gen. Chukwuemeka, Reno Omokri would’ve created a thousand accounts, monikers and headings telling the world how Igbo military officers ruined Nigeria and how they are the genesis of all the problems bedevilling Nigeria since independence.
