I would like to commend Atiku Abubakar for being first, a patriot, who holds high our constitution and who believes in the integrity of our systems. Though perceived to be corrupt, but noone, court, tribunal or committee has ever indicted him.
Atiku single-handedly stopped a third-term agenda of a sitting president. Now he has single-handedly proven to us that a sitting president is a document forger.

So my questions today are simple.

1. Q: If you forge the document with which you got admitted into a university or college, what does the Nigerian law say?
A: You are not qualified to parade such certification. In fact, the university will withdraw your certification. This is same application worldwide.

2. Q: What do you call anyone who prepared, created or generate his own certificate or diploma or age or schools attended or place of birth, etc.?

A: According to 467 of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria. Punishment of forgery in general is 3 years in imprisonment.

"Any person who forges any document, writing, or seal, is guilty of an offence which, unless otherwise stated, is a felony, and he is liable, if no other punishment is provided, to imprisonment for three years."

Do you agree that Tinubu committed forgery of a document or more?

A: As per S 467 of criminal code, if you forge ANY DOCUMENT, WRITING, OR SEAL, you are liable. The meat here is the forgery. It does not matter that you forge your own birth certificate without falsifying your age. As long as you forged the document authenticating your age, you are a criminal.

We are in dire need of a society of Integrity, where people are held accountable for their actions. A nation that can hold it's own in the comity of developing nations. What has kept us down is the lack of accountability, because we lack that "tone from the top".
In the corporate world, corporations require their employees to exhibit highest level of integrity. A behavior devoid of corruption, bribery, personal gains and even unprofessional acts or unfair practice and competition.

As a trained auditor, Tinubu should know better. Committing forgery in any circumstance is not acceptable, hence he should spare us the rhetorics on the cyberspace and resign honourably.

Tinubu declared interest in running for president in May 2022, which is about 10 months before the elections. Such a person who knew he had no certificate to present would have approached CSU for certificate replacement. He did not only go and forge one.
