Most of the money goes into providing security against militancy, kidnapping & pipeline vandalism. They also spend a lot to clean up oil spillage
Hence, the state govt has little left to fund developmental projects

Most of the money given to Bayelsa state is spent on providing security against militancy, pipeline vandalism & kidnapping which are prevalent in such area. They also spend a lot to clean up oil spillage.
The state govt has little left to execute developmental projects after spending a lion share of money on the aforementioned

Lamba!!!

Big lies and puerile excuses. Tell that to the birds.

All the money ended up in polithiefcians pockets.

If you are from rivers, delta, bayelsa and akwa Ibom know that They are wasting your development. Know that a few greedy men are wacking the growth of your state.

These states plus Lagos, Ogun, kano and kaduna have no reason not to be developing like Johannesburg and co.

If it's offshore, I'll agree..

The thieves called politicians would not allow that money for development, that has been the major problem of Nigeria from time in memorial.

Niger Delta states are supposed to be the most developed states in Nigeria, due to the oil revenue that accrues to them in term of 13% derivation, yet they are no better than every other state in the country. Abi what is the difference between Bayelsa and Ekiti? In what way is Akwa Ibom better than Kano? Is Delta more developed than Osun?

What each of these so called oil producing states gets is bigger than annual budgets of many West African countries.

The SS, SE and SW masses won't hold their governors, politicians accountable, rather will be busy abusing abokis, Hausa's, Buharis in govt. Buhari paid 13 percent derivation arrears from 1999 to date to the governors, but the funds were embezzled.

At the return of democracy in 1999, the oil producing states were demanding for resource allocations and for 50% derivation.

Now, their masses are no longer requesting for them seeing the 13% has largely been mismanaged.

If these states had been prudent with their funds, there'll be 3 times as many projects and state debt would be much lower.
