This drunk, owanbe ooni should just spare serious minded yoruba sons and daughters of his usual rubbish and nonsense of mixing chaff with wheat. What Adesoji and Sijuade never mentioned throughout their lifetime. Putting this guy as ooni is absolute desecration of ooni stool 1 Like 1 Share |

Teeklef: I don't know what is wrong with you people. Oga the binis have no relation with you Yorubas. Stop misyarning dust. If their king was buried at Ile ife, it means the binis founded Ile ife and one of oba's son called idozuwa went there upon discovering it's has small settlement of people decided to rule over them. Of course, he died and was buried there! How then did Yorubas and Bini relate? Prove it!! Because in reality it's even the binis that founded ile ife yet you don't see them making noise about it. It is stupidity for your Oni to drink and smoke only to get high and end up linking igbo to Ile ife when actually Igbo are older than Roman empire. Oni of Ife keeps embarrassing the Yorubas. What a clown calling himself king |

CSTRR: Ethnic origin is very complex and I hate how people try to simplify these things. You can't even establish the fact that all Yorubas even originated from Ife. Not to talk of Igbos they are farther away. The only place Igbo ancestors merged and met with Yoruba ancestors was in Ugbodu axis in Anioma and that's just a minute number of the whole population. This is the same battle we face with those pushing the Bini and Eri origin. Trying to tie origins of a vast nation to a single place is nothing but an attempt to rewrite history. Our origin is diverse. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Seems this man has run berserk again. Last time it's was Yoruba's that migrated from Igbo's. We are talking about centuries and this man is talking decades.was it a slip of tongue? If you really mean decades then Ife Igbo definitely migrated from Igbo land. See me see historian ooo. “We have good evidence to believe that Igbo race has its roots here in Ile-Ife. There is Ile-Igbo here in the palace which was not a recent creation but has been existing here for decades. For this and many other reasons, I believe we need proper documentation of our history,” the Ooni said. |

Adaisback:Listen and take note. The story of Moremi of Ile Ife refers to the historical Ugbos of Ife who are PURE Yorubas NOT the Ibos of the area east of River Niger. The Ugbos of Ife history are the same as the Ugbos in the oil and gas-rich Ilaje kingdom of Ondo State. The great Ugbos of the oil and gas-rich Ugbo kingdom in the Yoruba-speaking Ilaje area of Ondo State have since many years back WARNED you the Ibos in a several widely circulated press releases from the Royal Palace of the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, the billionaire oil magnate, Oba Frederick Akinrutan to STOP distorting their ancestral history by calling them Ibos! They are Yorubas in origin whose forebears where instructed by Ifa to migrate from Ile Ife to their current location. There family compounds are still in existence in Ife till today with family members there. The Yoruba word or name "Ugbo" is simply a DIALECTIC variant of the Yoruba word "Igbo" which both mean forest or bush. The Ugbos are NOT Ibos. It is some morally-bankrupt Ibo propagandists and bloggers that falsely twisted the Yoruba word Ugbo to mean Ibo ethnic group when the original Moremi story does NOT suggest so. IMPORTANT NOTE: Lastly, there are major differences below between Yorubas and Ibo showing that both are NOT directly related historically: 1. Yorubas do NOT practice OSU and ohu discriminatory caste systems. 2. Yoruba marriages are very different from that of Ibos. 3. Yorubas have NO history of widely eating human beings for food (or cannibalism) before and after 1900 as reported by the killing and partial eating of a white man called Dr. Stewart in Mbaise in 1906 (with his bicycle tied to a tree to prevent it from escaping), and clearly written by the famous Onitsha-based European missionary, Reverend George T. Basden in his popular book "Among the Ibos of Nigeria." Reverend George Basden wrote in his book [which can be downloaded for free and read in PDF] about the widespread eating of human beings in Ibo areas east of Onitsha, and some of his Ibo Christian converts confessed to him that they had been eating human beings for food. There is a popular Colonial map of Nigeria which clearly shows the entire Ibo South East of Nigeria as a region where the primitive and widespread eating of human beings for food (cannibalism) was shown. Anioma peoples in Delta North, Edos, Itsekiris, Urhobos, Isokos, Yorubas, Efiks, Ibibios, etc, had NO such savage occurences. The map is online and uploaded on Nairaland. 4. The Ibos are snake or python worshippers (e.g, Idemili) and if you kill a python you will pay a heavy fine and bury it like a human being. This is unlike the Yorubas who have NO known history of snake or python worship but are IFA devotees and adherants historically. 5. Yorubas never practiced the killing of twins because twins have for centuries been widely adored by Yorubas just like other children. The Ibos have a history of twins killing or dumping into so-called evil forests before and after the great Scots missionary Mary Slessor arrived Nigeria in the 1800s and helped to stop the sickening and primitive practice. And there are many more differences showing the Yorubas ethnicity are NOT directly related to the localised Ibo sub-tribes otherwise both groups would be sharing a lot of deep cultural histories in common! 1 Like |

Swiftgrp: The Ugbos were Igbos in ancient time and not disputable. Even the bolded clearly proves it because that word "Igbo" was never used to qualify as self expression but reference to ancient forest people who metamorphosed into today's Igbo. They occupied all of Southern Nigeria but never had a central leadership which was why other groups established in their lands to found new groups. The Orus and Igbos are the most ancient people in Nigeria and metamorphosed into Igbo and Ijaw. |
