I sometimes wonder why you guys put up everything online. What if the lady is here on Nairaland??

Anyway to the topic, I understand cos I usually feel same way about some street vendors too. Just politely tell her the truth. You'll always sleep better being plain.
What do you feel about them?

You mustn't comment you know.
If we guys don't bring topics, mature people like you won't see a topic to get angry over.

Please don't listen to all the negative comments.

She is just being civil, and for her to even ask yoy means she likes you, and wants you to reciprocate by buying from her.

If she doesn't care, she no go send, many customers dey.

I will tell her exactly why:

1. Fear of adulterated gas
2. Fear of cheating
3. Fear of over pricing

Let her allay my fears. I love to support small businesses.

People have different ways of starting conversations, it's not really asking for explanation but making an enquiry. Market people ask direct questions that some times sound like allegations self. It's no big deal.

She is not her customer.

She asked for her number and began to ask why she doesn't patronise her.

Quite impolite, if you ask me

This one came here to do advert!

Israel must ensure they completely wipe out this Hamas terrorists countries including Saudi Arabia, wipe them out from the surface of the earth.

Muslims and Islams have always been the problem of this world. It's time for Israel to wipe them out from existence!

God bless Israel

You fool still think Israel -Palestine war is a religious battle ?
Didn't you watch the news last week of how the Christians in Israel are been killed and driven out of their homes by the Jews?
Do you even know that the population of Christians in Israel is just 1.9 percent over 100 percent.
While the population of Muslims who are Israelite isx 18 percent .
Do you even know the reason while the Jews are terrorizing the Christians in the past few weeks was because there is increase in percentage of Christians in Israel.
The Palestinians are fighting for their independence and freedom and nothing more pretentions .
You are even putting Saudi Arabia on your list to show your stupidity and hatred towards Islam.
Why don't you read to know the main reason behind this war .

Thanks. I just went out now and saw her. I beckoned on her and asked why she thinks I don't "like" patronising her. She apologised for her choice of words. That it has been disturbing her given that I buy from others and she heard I bought from the brother. I never knew the yahooboy is her brother. I told her he was unreliable and never open on days I needed him. It is nothing personal.

Lol... Collecting number may be unnecessary but she can ask if she's bothered. To be honest I believe the gas talk is just preamble grin grin grin No be the real matter because all the suspense and long thing is not necessary.

Nevertheless, she did no wrong asking that question.

Very simple, i have a little brother who does it across the road. So i used it to support him. One barber for my estate did this kin tin to me, and before i packed in from my former place, i used to have a barber, a village brother. And he's close to my office. Imagine one Sunday, i say make i go charge my phone for the barber for my estate, the no gree o, just because i don't patronize him. He was even bold to say it, you wey no dey barb here

Very awkward question..
This same thing happened to me same ony street. The woman came and asked me why I don't longer buying stuff from her again that where I left speechless 😶😶.

I have a car 🚗 I prefer taking my cylinder to gas station for refill than refilling it fim the road vendor..

She's telling you the truth. Even the first 3 or 4 people gave simple and good answers.
It's not a complicated issue that requires the input of tens or hundreds of Nairalanders.

But as usual, you get coconut head.

Main point is "A common ground" She is a retailer and you can not expect her to sell thesame way she bought. Its really painful when you have to leave her and buy from someone else. You can discuss with her about prices and reach a common ground even if only you will have the privilege>

izzou:

So, the one selling at depots are ingenuine hustlers?

The advantage in business is mostly pricing. A street vendor cannot compete with a depot. Infact, street vendors buy from the same depots too.

Make we no dey talk like say na wickedness.

"I can't patronise you because your price is high".

Well, you will be in thesame situation someday and you will understand how painful it feels. I even commend her for asking you why you dont patronize her. You dont own her anything, its just courtesy / ways of maintaining interpersonal relationships . There is no code of conduct to how to live.

Please read to understand, it shouldn't be hard. I never said I don't patronise her because of yahoo boy. There is no commom ground. I don't owe her one. Thanks

I owe her no patronage. Skip the emotional blackmail. I would do what works best for me, not your emotions. Courtesy is greeting her and being polite when necessary, not patronising her. You might have to use your dictionary here.
