DeadPresidents:

Any Palestinian "leader" that accepts a 2 state agreement will go the way of Anwar Sadat. There’s too much hate and bad blood between both for there to be any type of lasting peace.

One will do their best to wipe the other out in a genocide.

Omo, the situation is critical.

Over the last decade, Israel have moved away from considering a 2 state agreement. I don’t think it is an option for them also.

Someone on twitter made a point about the banned muslim brotherhood in Egypt. The Egyptian government is probably trying to avoid Hamas linking up with their own domestic terrorists and gingering them to cause wahala.

raumdeuter:
If you check Palestine Gaza map you will realize they have 2 borders one to Egypt and one to Israel

They are never fighting for Egypt to open their border to them.

Fellow Arab country cheer them from afar but no one will allow them into their territory

Any country who’s tried to let in these people have ended up regretting it. Civil wars, terrorism, assassinations, you name it, the Falistinains have done it. Ask Jordan, Iraq, Syria and Egypt.

The other Arab countries know they are problematic and they wont even allow it in their countries. Hamas in Egypt will immediately cause problems for the govt and the people of Egypt. What Egypt and other Arab countries cannot allow they will insist Israel does.

Israel even allow some to enter and work on Israel territories, will Egypt also consider that?

Its like in US when states will say border states like Texas Arizona should allow Mexicans into their states, recently they sent a few of those immigrants to New York and the governor started changing voice that they shouldnt allow them to come to New York but go to other states

Sadly true people mostly bred on violence and chaos. Unfortunately the unrelenting brutality of the Israelis and determination to defend their homeland will continue to radicalize young Palestinians. The Hamas leadership and Palestinian elite had better think of a more realistic and pragmatic solution or else they run the risk of provoking a very heartless Israel leadership in the future that won't hesitate to use nuclear weapons even if limited.

True, Isreal has clearly moved on from the 2 state solution. No sane country will ever agree to that with people who life's mission and ambition is wiping them out. So many things will have to change before Isreal will even consider that again.

Palestine never wanted it, and I doubt they even want it now. What they've always wanted is total destruction of the Jews and nothing else. A pipe dream that will continue to cost them dearly. Those blindly supporting their cause don't even know what they're supporting.

Seems to me the only long term fix to this is the violent removal of Hamas Because Isreal isnt going away and its literally embedded in Hamas idelology that violent Jihad is the solution.

So what else is there?

Its like an unavoidable war.

I was listening to Top G's take on the the current t situation in the middle East and it made a lot of sense.

Israel have the 15th largest military expenditure in the world which is crazy for a country of less than 10 million people - there's fewer people in the whole country than Lagos state.

Their intelligence arm in Mossad is one of the most feared in the world. A spy agency that can track Nazis to Argentina and kidnap them for trial in Israel. These guys are the bogeymen of the intelligence world.

I don't really believe that you can throw a stone from Gaza into Israel without it being vaporised by their defence systems. So it seems crazy that the Hamas attack was able to happen without Isreali intelligence getting wind of it.

Well, maybe it didn't.

I read a press release from Ali Barakeh, one of the Hamas leaders that planned the attacks, saying that even Hamas were surprised at how easy it was to pull off the attack.

Top G suggested that if you play chess, you know that sometimes the pawn is put in a position where it must die, for the full gambit to work.

I don't know how to play chess.

This war will never end...

As long as the population of Israel keeps increasing, the quest to grab more lands will continue. Hamas are also very dumb but I think for them, the destruction of the Gaza Strip is a win in the long run as more and more young Palestinians will be easily indoctrinated by watching the suffering meted out on them by Israel.

I don't think the majority of Palestinians are in support of the activities of Hamas but as is the case with us humans, no matter how bad your own is, you'd fight for them when the war comes to your doorstep...

Israel are totally surrounded by enemies who want to wipe them out. They have no trusted ally in that region, even Egypt is a mere mediator between them and Palestine.

Consequently, they have to expend huge resources on their military to keep the country prepared at all times and safe. I don’t think Israel is even bigger than New Jersey or Massachusetts here in the States.

Top G is claiming that Israel intentionally weakened its security systems to allow Hamas attack so they can in turn wipe out Gaza. While a good argument and a war tactic, I doubt it is the case. There is too much at stake for Israel to allow such, especially for the much maligned Netanyahu.

It's a solid argument tho. Israel response help boost Netanyahu reputation and he can come out of this whole mess as a hero of his people that held everything together when the "enemies" attacked.

But what has Hamas done for Gaza since they assume leadership there? Hamas itself dont care about the people.

How is Israel still the one feeding and giving electricity to Gaza? They claim Israel doesn't allow them build anything with cement or steel but how do they end up building steel reinforced bunkers in Gaza? How do they build or get ammunition always to attack Israel?

I also heard that the hammas built a mock isreal town where they practiced this invasion since last year. . And isreal didn't notice or never took it serious?

The recorded the practice so they can watch and study it regularly.

This made me have my own suspicion too.

Hamas themselves are not trying at all but they have succeeded in making the locals think Israel is the aggressor...

Israel do have their faults too.

It is difficult for any Israeli leader to take all the glory for retaliating against Hamas because it is a non-negotiable expectation in Israel. In the history of Hamas/ Israel wars, no sitting Israeli leader gloats about invading or retaliating against Hamas.

If anything he will suffer a worse reputation/ consequence if it is remotely true that he weakened their military system for Hamas to invade.

Israel’s geography doesn’t afford them the luxury to suffer over 400 deaths because they want to trap Hamas..
