Do a deep research on the Nri kingdom of Igbo land those days. I dare say that it was one of the oldest kingdoms in the whole of Africa. They went round, even to Benin and installed kings there, and also performed other ceremonial functions. Infact, some people those days worshipped them as gods.
In the history of Benin, they claim that some people from heaven ruled them at some point: the little they know about those rulers from heaven matches almost perfectly with the Nris.
