larride:What do you expect him to say? The problem is with Lagos state govt; just like the omo onile situation they enable these things to happen because of corruption; like a whole estate was built. Couple of weeks ago I went property shopping with a friend along that axis; there is practically no way the govt is not aware of the projects from inception talkless of a completed estate. Some property visited off freedom way you see stop work and permit revocations pasted on them, some even have a number of reissuance of approvals pasted. I feel it is wrong to blame people who bought into an estate, most people are encourage to buy within an estate due to buying from omo onile is considered very risky... Also is demolition always the only option? Canal can be rechannelled - I would assume offering the occupant to bear the cost of rechannelling is more economical and better outcome for all involved especially when the govt is culpable. 5 Likes |

If you see people developing science in their native language, it's because they know god/God doesn't protect or help anyone. Humans protect and help one another, not a god. But then, I don't expect the dumb ones or the mentally infirm one that wants to wipe out his culture to understand this simple truth. When the dull ones are praying and relying on a god, a human like themselves, to protect them and help them in times of need, that god is busy doing research in science and all kinds of knowledge to protect and help himself. If mumu people plenty for your culture, they won't value their language and other key elements of their culture, especially their ancestors and forebears but put a foreign language over theirs. When you put the language of another people above your own, automatically, you'll also put their ancestors and forebears over yours and relegate your culture as a whole to the background. (Your mumu na follow come.) What that means in the larger scheme of things is that you've become inferior or second-class to such foreign people. This is one key reason why intelligent people clamor for Africans to speak their native language primarily (whether they're in the majority or minority) and English or any other language secondarily. Only the intelligent can understand this simple message. 1 Like

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001: 2:27pm On Oct 16, 2023 |
The mumunis (imbes) can start drawing their false equivalence as usual by citing an example of people taking courses in foreign languages. That's a voluntary action, not imposed. If I'm learning a new language or doing a program taught in a foreign language, of course, that language is learnt or spoken as a secondary language. The irony is the pseudo-English people of Nigeria who carry another man language for head like gala no know the difference between primary and secondary. This forum na one kind funny place |

BlueRayDick: Approval itself is a racket. Lasbca officials will setup consulting firms that are supposed to help you fast track approval and ensure it is legit. We had one consultant who was wasting our time so we dropped him and got someone else who got our approval out. The next thing enforcement teams started coming to our site to shut it down even with our approvals. A case of thieves fighting thieves within lasbca . It was a mess. On top of that if you see the lazy nonsense they do. One gave us approval with a copy and paste soil investigation report. We then found peat during construction which set us back over 10% of the project cost. This government needs to deploy a working electronic approval system. As long as it is paper based these scams will continue 3 Likes 1 Share |

Olowunl01: The govt is not culpable if they dont have legal approval. It's the responsibility of those buying land to make sure that whatever they are getting are legal. If you go give boys wey they work for these agencies money, na shakedown money you give them, if the govt decides to act, boss na sorry be the case. You must always do your due diligence before purchasing land or property o. Govt is not omnipotent that has eyes everywhere, that's why it's important to do your own due diligence. Theres a building not far from where I was reside before, lasbca has pasted stop work on it twice due to the fact that the building in encroaching on the road, before I left that area the person that owns the building has almost completed the house because whenever the labsca officials come, he will wait for like 3 weeks then resume work there. In 5yrs time, if another govt or commissioner enters and wants to build the road, we'll start hearing about how govt is culpable or how it's the govt fault. Most of these developers usually get their guys in these agencies to just help them forge some documents to swindle those who are buying the lands until kasala like this happen. |
