profemebee: Interestingly enough , this not wanting to be a bad person maybe why some ppl just don't pick up their calls when new immigrants arrive. They just ghost I think both the rejecter and rejecter need therapy in giving nos and receiving nos. Emotional blackmail is real. On a side note...sometimes it's the yes ppl you should be afraid of cos they may sell you 4000pounds pot. 5 Likes |

justwise: You seem to be looking at appreciation against Forex. Isolate property valuation from naira devaluation. For instance, if a house was 1 million naira last year and this year it is 2 million naira, that is 100% appreciation. How much dollar was last year and this year is another story. Except such appreciation was as a result of currency devaluation in which case the appreciation is just an Illusion. 2 Likes |

Viruses: We can't run away from that as that is a key market factor, if i sent money home to invest i want the money back with a return. Not interested in leaving my money in my Nigerian bank account. Infact i have stopped funding my Nigerian bank account, i send money to family and relatives directly through the agent. |

Viruses: Good point. Then you have to consider 1 If you're earning naira and bought in naira or you earned forex to change and bought in naira then the exchange rate would mean any appreciation is false. Secondly I feel property appreciation in Nigeria is based on land and cost iof he house next to your. Ppl just put price on houses even when the quality is substandard. It's when you live in you know. For me many houses are poorly built, check the corners, poor quality finishing, plumbing is a wash, electricals are poor quality cos many don't use professionals to save costs, paint bleeds over from wall to wall. Then let me not start on the tiling....complete safety hazard. I |

Viruses: Bolded: With a stable Naira probably yes, but the current state of the Naira will make it very difficult to do especially for many in the diaspora whose capital is in Forex, this makes Naira devaluation a major criteria to consider. 1 Like |

There are a couple of volunteer roles you could take up around your area, some of them even come to your school job fairs, keep an eye out for them. Benefits of volunteer roles: They’ll provide you a UK reference if you need one, and also the hours you do there count towards UK work experience. (NB: Don’t exceed your 20hours limit even with a volunteer role) Godsonice: 1 Like |
