I'm just wondering... Are graduate students allowed to do business in Uk.. Business like buying and selling, stock investments, high interest saving bank account, shipping goods to Nigeria etc? Or just 20 hours weekly work only.. |

hustla: “have worked in your role for at least 6 months, for an average of at least 16 hours a week” Average of 16 hrs weekly. So, for example, you could work 10 hrs x 4weeks = 40 20hrs x 6weeks = 120 Total = 160hrs/10week That’s an average of 16 hrs per week at a span of 10 weeks. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello, everyone. I have a question please. I've heard that if a couple plans to rent a place and only one of them is employed, they might have a lower chance of being approved by the landlord. Is this true? Additionally, if we choose to list only the working person on the lease application, will this have any negative consequences for the other person who will be living there, or are there any other potential issues for the couple? 1 Like |

Jokuns1: To your first question, yes, it was difficult for us because only one of us was working at the time. Part of what helped us was we agreed to provide a guarantor as requested by the landlord My LL requested to have only the name of the person working on the rental agreement but I doubt if there are major issues with this. |

What should one look out for when buying a new build? Also, those houses close to the road, that the door is close to footpath, does passing cars really disturb? I'm looking at either that type or one at the end of a close. I feel the one at the end of a close will be too quiet because it's not facing any houses, just facing a field/park. Finally why are rooms in new builds too small. Infact I see those 3 bedrooms houses as 2 and half bedrooms. 2 Likes |

If you pay for your bills via direct debit i.e automated recurring/periodic payments or repayments for goods or services, then put 2 on the account you're switching to them. America001: |

This depends on the Landlord and could be sometimes true. I had similar issues when i was trying to rent, so we put the employed person first and the unemployed person next on the form. Jokuns1: 1 Like |

Gift7428:Send an email to secretariat@possap.gov.ng requesting for the biometric form. State your name and date of application. Include your file reference number, invoice number and the email you used while applying. You can also attach your payment receipt to the email. Make sure you state in the body of the email that you are a diaspora applicant. Good luck! 6 Likes 3 Shares |
