The naira cannot go head to head to the dollar. Successive govt kept subsidizing the naira to make it appear artificially strong on paper, what you are currently seeing is the true value of the naira to dollar.

A country that doesn't manufacture anything can't have a strong currency.

Policy implementation and execution takes time and especially on a national scale, it will take a while for things to normalize.

Only a mad man will continue doing the same thing over and over again and be expecting different result.
