It is a reflection of Nigeria itself, so there's no point blaming Nairaland per se.

All of this madness started during Jonathan's administration, circa 2010-ish, and was spearheaded by Yorubas who hated the 'Ibo' Jonathan for purely tribalistic reasons. Things went downhill from there.

The Igbos, like the rest of Nigeria, merely stepped up to repay in kind, especially with the Yoruba foisted disaster called Buhari, and now the disgusting bastard they call Tinubu. It will only get worse.

The only solution is a clean break from the status quo. Interpret that however you want.

E choke you abi? Hahahahaha the hatred seeds wey una sow don dey germinate. Just like the hatred Nigeria security forces have against the ESN and IPOB, I can remember when the ESN and IPOB started with just ordinary flags and sticks singing and dancing in the streets, the Nigeria security forces will go after them and massacre them, until they started fighting back. That's when the hausa fulanis terrorists and the Yoruba Muslim miscreant terrorists started calling them terrorists for defending themselves. The same thing happened here on nairaland, Years back the yorubas and some illiterate Hausa fulanis terrorists take their papa Blokos swear say Igbo people no go drink water and drop cup here. Na even during Gudluck Jonathan regime the hatred started. Every small thing wey niger delta man post here, una go turn am against the Igbos, now na fire to fire to every tribes, even Seun Osewa no go rest here. No room for peace

What is happening on nairaland today is like a pregnant woman that just gave birth. You see the baby but the woman took in 9 months back.

It's a reflection of what our society is. And it's not a good one. I can say it became worse when GEJ and Buhari were contesting. From the till now nairaland no dey sweet to visit again. But Seun needs to do more to bring sanity to this forum, cos there is so much bad blood reading comments on this forum.

The only solution is a clean break from the status quo. Interpret that however you want.

You mean the Yorubas hated the "Ibo" Jonathan, yet same Jonathan was campaigned and protested for by Yorubas so he could be made the official acting President while Yar'Adua was away on his sick bed?

The Yorubas hated the "Ibo" Jonathan, yet same Jonathan won every Yoruba state except Osun State in the 2011 presidential elections, despite that the PDP he belonged to was already a minority party in the SouthWest region?

What happened was that Jonathan failed and was clearly clueless about everything.

We remember Igbos telling Yorubas to go meet Tinubu for appointment then, which is now happening with President Tinubu in power.

What was most observable during the Jonathan regime was the insistence by the Igbos to always defend the government despite its failures.

No tribe protested against the Obasanjo regime more than his fellow Yorubas. Igbos were also very fond of castigating the failures of that regime.

No tribe protested against the Yar'Adua regime more than Yorubas who also decried the sidelining of Jonathan as the Vice-President whom a dying President refused to handover his executive powers. Igbos were also very vocal in castigated the failures of the federal government then.

But with the Jonathan regime, the Yorubas thought they had a right to condemn the failures of the federal government like they had become used too since the military era, only to see the castigating Igbos suddenly become the fiercest supporters of the federal government.

That was the period that I as a Yoruba and many Nigerians realised the lessons the Igbos taught us. We thought we had been protesting against the failures of the different regimes before Jonathan as Nigerians wanting a better performance. Until the Igbos told us during the Jonathan regime that we are Yorubas who have lost out of political power that is why we are protesting and condemning the Jonathan regime.

It was Igbos who opened our eyes to our own foolishness as demonstrated by their own calculated support for Jonathan as long as he kept providing them political rewards.

Do not criticize a government that you tribally align with for political benefit.

So the Yorubas tribally aligned with the Buhari regime, and rarely criticized him, as such no national protest could ever work against that government.

As for the Tinubu regime, we have gone to meet Tinubu as the Igbos taunted us, and we have made him President.

We have learnt well from the Igbos, so mum's the word.

Let the Igbos criticize as they see fit, we do not owe them any criticism of the Federal Government now, and if they need anything, let them go and meet Peter Obi.

So you are right about the period in time, but you are wrong about the details of what transpired.

OP, blame the APC DingBats supporters.

They supported FAILURE Buhari for 8years and proceeded to support a DRUGGIE Tinubu again.😕🤦

Is this NOT madness?😕😒

When you call them out, they call you IPOB or IGBO even if your username is Osagie, Ekaette or Tamuno.😏

They DESTROYED this forum! 😟😌

We need this tribalism to bring to the fore the core reality of Nigeria which is that we're just strange bed fellows who are absolutely incompatible with each other, the so called national unity isn't organic so it looks forced. As an Igbo man, I share more in common with a man from far away Liberia and Kenya than a yorubaa person or a Northerner...yet we share the same geographical space called Nigeria. Tribalism is the full dose of my own reality, it's the self-preservation I need and if I have to kill or die for that conviction; I'll gladly do it again again and again.
