That's a pretty lady right there. Is it just me, or did people retire early in those days? She retired in 1986 at the age of 40. This same 40 nowadays, people are trying to be a big shot in broadcasting. |

To the younger ones here, just to give you a bit of history. The Great country of Nigeria had a female Newscaster long before Her mama (Britain) allowed women to appear on TV. |

Sannisege: You are really an unfortunate and foolish fellow. The first professor of insurance and acturial science was an igbo man. The first mining Engineer was an igbo man, but in your ignorance and classic dense behavior you will not know that. 1 Like |

Corn247: Taaa!!!!!! shut your trap the fastest growing region in Nigeria was the old eastern region under michael Okpara. You had Ijora Power station the east had Oji River and Afam Power station. PH refinery was built without any revenue from oil. you had Ikeja Industrial estate, we had TransAmadi, Nnewi, Onitsha and Aba Industrial estate. The educational enrollment of the Eastern region was the highest in the country, that was the true reason behind Awolowo introducing free education(Prof Babs Fafunwa said this in his book "The history of Education in Nigeria". You guys should remove the inferiority complex that always makes you think you are in competition whereas you don't matter anymore. 1 Like |

truthfinder319: Is anyone in competition with you? this una inferiority complex is really a cause for concern ooooo. what use have you done with the first, when in 1940 the eastern regions(igbos) not only caught up with you, the overtook you guys which made Awolowo in 1955 to introduce free education to catch up. even with the setback of the war, the igbos have not only covered ground but have overtook you guys in enrollment numbers in WAEC and Jamb. Abeg stop this stupid inferiority complex that you are exhibiting. 1 Like |

Corn247: Armed robbers come your house you say you get idea but you no get gun. You go explain tire. Meaning: Nigeria have robbed Yoruba people a lot because Yoruba are naive and still continue to be, Nigeria's robbery of Yoruba is not finished until Yoruba say no with force |

Irony1: Fastest growing doesn't mean anything(that's if you are even right) You might be growing 0 - 5 while others is growing from 100-104. Yoruba and igbo no dey same level and will never be. Your fore fathers were still going to markets stark naked when yorubas were inventing what makes Nigeria today! |
Re: Anike Agbaje-Williams: Nigeria's First Female TV Presenter Is 87 Today (Photos) by Corn247: 11:45am On Oct 23, 2023 |
demmie1: Lol Yorubas are not naive, they just have big hearts, the rest of Nigeria would have remained stagnant and really undeveloped if we are not together. |

Corn247:They hijacked our consular office in the UK too. The current consular office where UK embassy is in central London belonged to the western region. May Azikiwe and Ironsi rot in hell for all the nonsense they did in the 50s and 60s. Western region would have been far gone. 1 Like |

Re: Anike Agbaje-Williams: Nigeria's First Female TV Presenter Is 87 Today (Photos) by Corn247: 12:21pm On Oct 23, 2023 |
demmie1: I agree with you but i think there is also danger if we cut them off completely as they can go rogue. These North and east people will send nukes to our land if they mistakenly have it without blinking an eye. Our forefathers might have accepted some things due to security reasons not because they are naive, we have seen how those who think they controlled the army and Nigeria that time wasted themselves for nothing at the end of the day when they think they can break whenever they want. |
