Yes it's totally fine, as long as it's from the official degree awarding institution, whatever means they use in sending it is fine.

Good morning Seniors,

I am a senior software engineer in Europe. I have a masters degree already evaluated by WES 3 years ago but because of age my CRS is 465 if I max out IELTS. What do you advise I do? Should I just go to Canada for another MSc or I should create a profile with the 465 and hope for favour?

I know some of you may say why do I want to go to Canada if already working in Europe but my reason is personal, please. Also, I feel my siblings may need the relationship points in the future.

, funnily enough, this siblings point is one of the reason I am doing this.
Max out IELTS, explore pnp, your Noc is in demand in lots of province.
You can also explore the school route, focus on province like manitoba, Alberta, new Brunswick that do family ties.
I'm sure there are other province that do so.

Good morning!
Kindly join the pool if you haven’t already and indicate you are interested in all provinces. You are in Tech field which is in high demand by some provinces. Province like Ontario do offer PNP to those in Tech from the pool

You are a prime candidate for Ontario PNP. Max out your IELTS and get into the pool, while you could then continue with other possibilities of increasing your score. Very likely you will get ITA before you manage to increase your CRS score.

Hello All the Ogas

I have something bothering me and i want you guys to advise.

I have been in South Africa for some years now working as a Software Developer.. This year i applied to a job post on linkedin for a canadian tech firm and i got the job last month.
Now the company is in the process of applying for LMIA.
My fear now is i am in South Africa for some years now and they have refused to renew my papers which means i am illegal here.
Will this hamper my Visa application chances?

Also the company's immigration lawyer told me that i will need to send my passport to him during the visa application but i will have to do the biometrics in the country i am located.

Will this pose any problem?

Thanks

Good evening gurus, please can I evaluate only my HND though I will be submitting both Hnd and Ond statement of results. I attended different schools for Ond and Hnd. The school I attended for my Ond might take forever to respond hence the question.

You need to have a valid permit in south africa before you can apply for a Canadian work permit from South Africa. Canada needs you to have a valid legal status where you reside.

You have a much better chance applying from Nigeria than SA

Thank you. I have created my profile.

I have few questions:

I stopped my first job in tech on 31st of May and started Bank job 1st of June. However, I left the bank job to travel by September while still in training school. Can I add the 2 months worth of experience I spent in the bank training school? If I don’t add it then I must wait till next week to complete 3 years worth of experience: 2 in UK and 1 in Nigeria (it was actually about 4 years but the first 3 I was still in university).

Also, I learned Canada will start accepting PTE this year end. Should I wait for that instead of IELTS? I wrote PTE 4 years ago and I scored close to 90/90 in all categories. I believe PTE may just be easier for me.

Yes, it will hamper your chances. When applying you'll need to submit police report for the period of your residence in South Africa. You obviously can't get this while being illegal there.

Your best bet: if you really want that job and it all looks legit, move back to Nigeria and let Nigeria be your country of residence while you complete your application. You can then get police report for the duration you were in South Africa for. In any case, make it look like your residence is Justis
Nigeria, not South Africa.

What you need are years of experience as a software developer. And also stating that NOC in your application. Here's where you should start from. If those 3 years are as a tech hand, then you should be good.

Doesn't really matter if you write PTE or ielts. If you can write and score 90/90 in PTE, then I'm fairly certain you can easily max out your ielts. The nature and difficulty of these exams are not very far from one another.

What are you on about? I have all the love and kindness I need already. I understand that as a Nigerian you have no sense of how procedures work and, having experienced government neglect for several years or decades, you can't truly comprehend what it means when a delay is only caused by huge backlogs and not by a government authority merely sitting on your file for the fun of it. So, I symphathize with you in that regard. It's not my fault that you lacked that comprehension. What I think you need now is plenty dose of true reality and not the artificial reality that the Nigerian government has fed you over the years.

And please don't stop there. When you get to Canada and you apply to a job and they don't reply you after 2 months, please spam their HR for a response. You are after all entitled to it. Also, when you apply to get medical treatment and they put you on a waiting list of 4 months, please spam their help desk for immediate response. You are after all entitled to it. In addition, when you apply for day care for your kid in Canada and they put you on a waiting list of 3 months, please spam their customer desk all day for INSTANT response. You are after all entitled to it.

You lots need to grow up. You don't even look like you are ready for the challenges the country will pose. Obsessing over a supposed delay in a visa that will CERTAINLY come, when it's not like you have a deadline looming over you. I wish you guys the best!

Lol. Sometimes I feel there is no way living in Canada can be explained to someone until they live here. Emotions are like zero and its even worse in USA in this sense. The rule is the rule. The process is the process. IRCC processing delays teaches patience and in Canada patience is key particularly for newcomers. When I landed I had POF and two job offers in hand but it took me four months of trying before I was able to rent a condo in GTA. Credit report, credit score of 700+, 3 months paystub was the requirement. Even at that I was seen as a high risk tenant that other candidates got picked over me in more than 60 rental applications I submitted. The art of building credit slowly , waiting for my PR card which took 5 months and eventually furnishing the rented apartment slowly while building savings, TFSA and RRSP. You become a lot more detailed and accountable to yourself. Learning how to manage finances and credit is also super important. I saw how a friend of mine yelled at his wife in my presence. It was funny but I understood his frustration grin .

They came to visit me and I told them I was at an ikea store near the house. They opted to meet me there. Wife said she needed some kitchen spoons while I chilled outside with the husband. She called him to make payment and he spent $973 unplanned. He was very angry. She was fresh from naija

Same as you. Left Europe but only after maxing out. Make sure you get your citizenship first, if you have not yet done so. The benefits are plenty. You can do that in parallel to the Canadian PR project.

Learn French, use provincial nomination. Guys on here will give you the tips.

May I suggest that you do not need to invest in another masters. You need funds to set you and your family up when you land Canada. Loads to spend on.

Canada is good for the family points like you mentioned.

Your profession favours you. All you need to do now is focus on your plan. The focus will bring the inspiration and the right people to help you on this project.

Peace!
