Too much of butter will make the chin-chins crumble/dissolve in oil while frying.

Full cream milk will give you that rich taste you want.
Butter is gotten from milk after all.

Isn't Akara cheaper and more filling than puff puff though?

I never found a akara to be filling just by itself. Needed to be supported with bread. Puff puff can go solo with soft drinks.
