Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has pledged to support the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in its vision to promote the good image of Nigeria beyond its borders.

The Minister stated this on Tuesday in Abuja while receiving the Chairman and CEO of the commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on a courtesy visit.

He said: “Keeping NiDCOM afloat is our collective responsibility. I want to assure you that, as a ministry, we are ready to support you because whatever you do for our people in the diaspora has a ripple effect on our people at home.”

The minister, who spoke extensively on the need to create wealth as a government, noted that the commission as a government body represents “the good image of the country beyond our borders” and, thus, “deserves more support than” what it is currently getting.

“Most families have their breadwinners abroad. With NiDCOM providing them welfare support, the commission is helping us ensure national integrity, security, and peace.

“Also, there is a lot we can achieve from a partnership with NiDCOM. Like India, we must look beyond oil and see how a knowledge-based economy can turn things around for the country,” he said.

On receiving support from the ministry, Dabiri-Erewa appreciated the kind gesture of the minister, adding that the commission will be motivated to do more in the new regime.

You cannot have a country where the vast majority of its people want to run away from and never come back and think the media will improve its image.

Do the right and watch the world respect and celebrate you. No American media company promotes their country in Nigeria, but most of us want to go to America.

Remember to scrutinize people in Nigeria looking for visas
So we don’t hear of drug trafficking and international fraud
Because that’s what’s those people know how to do
Thereby destroying the image of the country

Good news

Mind you, the first and second to comment are children of perdition, instead of having a positive change on their environment, instead, their environment has had a negative effect on them.

Nigeria is not a bad country, though we have bad people, especially from that drug infested region that comes to mind, But generally we are still warm and welcoming people.

Nigeria needs good PR to project the positive side of our people. That is exactly what America did with Hollywood even when crime rate was on an alarmy high and international corruption has eaten deep into their governance, they still portray a good image of America.

Good PR = Good Atmosphere = Good FDI = Job = Good life.

I now understand the different between Yoruba Government and Hausa Government.

This Government have nothing else to gain but bent on achieving nothing but the best in a short while....
If The Tinubu 80% Yoruba Government keeps the fire burning like this, 2years from today - Nigeria will be on the best of Economy compared to G10 countries.

We the North Central are solidly in support even if we are the least appointed in the led Yoruba Government. It's not about which tribe or who is the President, "it's about Nigeria to work!!!"

There are 200 million people in Nigeria.
Not even 40 million wants to leave.
There are a particular group who can't stay in their home, they make up a bulk of the people running away.
The ideology that the bulk of the people want to run away should be reserved for SE and nor extrapolated to the whole Nigeria.

Go and sleep. There are more Yorubas in the UK than any other ethnic group. If Nigéria is so sweet, what are your people doing there?

The last time I checked, Japa is an Igbo word, right? Apparently, when you start supporting Druggie, you automatically become daft.

Apt.
JagabanB:

Ur "facts" are based on hear say?
Do u know what "facts" represent?
There's no nothing to back ur Iamè claim that most Nîgeriàns want to leave Nigeria.
It's 100% false, the only place where the people want to run away from is SE.
The average northerner which makes up the bulk of Nigeria
is not interested in ur "japa" same as millions upon millions of other
southerners.
U don't talk about "facts" with ur mouths, bring the numbers and data to back ur "facts".
There are over 200m people living in this country, the numbers seeking to travel is not even up to 40m.
Lame as expected..what language is japa that is now widely used? Answer or rest.

Wittyness
