Rise Of Armed Biafra Separatists, Is Nigeria Losing Out? by MrEverest(m): 12:48pm On Nov 01, 2023
Since the early 2000's, the struggle by Biafran separatists has continued to gain traction. First, it was MASSOB, a group that organized themselves peacefully in their agitations for Biafra. However, they were met with brute force by the Nigeria army and police. Many of their members were killed and others imprisoned for long periods. Eventually, their leader was believed to have been compromised while in prison. After that, the movement lost steam and eventually fizzled out.

Then came IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu. He operated under Uwazuruike in the then MASSOB before splitting to form IPOB. However, IPOB was more radical and its leader more charismatic. But just like MASSOB, IPOB also operated peacefully. And just like MASSOB, there members were also killed and imprisoned. There are still pictures on the internet of IPOB members being subjected to various inhuman treatments. There is a particular picture where their members were forced to swim inside muddy pool. Eventually, they took up arms and formed their military wing, the ESN. Today, their leader has remained in prison.

Incidentally, when IPOB took up arms, the army stopped subjecting them to inhuman treatments. The most worrisome is that ESN are not the only armed separatist groups operating now. Other splinter groups like BNL have emerged.

What is more troubling is that these separatist groups are becoming more formidable and audacious. They're not only heavily armed but also display videos of their training and parades without fear.

Just yesterday, one of the separatist groups operating in Bakassi peninsula clashed with the Cameroun army and three Cameroonian soldiers died in the fight.

There is no doubt that Biafra separatists are growing their base, becoming well armed, having effective Intel. and good logistics. Also, other parts of the East outside the Igbo heartland are now forming synergy with the separatists.

The question now is, has the Nigerian state giving up? Have they exhausted all options? What is the way forward?

The above questions are very important and need to be addressed, because the separatist groups might eventually become too grounded to be routed again.

What is only happening is that some selfish folks are brainwashing uneducated emotional wreaks who have brains but cannot think for them. No sane person would join some SENSELESS separatists in the name of fighting for Biafra. Those who fight for Biafra are simply daft.

The death of Nigeria is a must if the various ethnicities that inhabit her will have any secured future. With Nigeria, we are all doomed.
Nigeria was a deliberate creation to destroy all of us forcefully joined together that is why you see the level of death too much inside her. It's very unfortunate the type of blacks we find inside Nigeria who know the problem and can see the solution but prefer to pretend and steal while millions die in situations that can be easily salvaged.

Boko Haram is largely a Kanuri fight for survival.
Fulani herdsmen terrorists are invaders working solely for grabbing lands for the fulanis on their main aim of conquering the whole Nigeria.
IPOB is a group fighting for the survival of Igbos and other oppressed ethnic groups of the old Eastern region.
Other Biafran allied groups especially the Biafran Nations League are fighting for their survival after Nigeria sold them away and left them to perish in IDP camps.
All is not well in Nigeria because it was a coupled contraption for the economic and administrative convenience of the British. Readers who will stumble on this post in the future when Nigeria will be entirely on fire will know that we were not all dumb. Some were shouting and fighting for her peaceful disintegration but they were instead killed.

The absolute truth is that the NIGERIAN State cant even confront these separatists head-on. All the propaganda and overzealous foolishness of their personnel on "innocent" civilians, has birthed a "Monster" which cant be TAMED unless the truth is "TOLD and Adhered to"

Sheik Gumi, has been a rabid advocate and negotiator for "certified terrorist"....HE HAS NOT BEEN PICKED/Arrested..

Fulani herdsmen kill and are given Military Protection
Boko Haram kill and are "reabsorbed" into the Police and Military architecture.

This is in a " so called" country that claims equity?

BIAFRA will be a success, because its principles are based on EQUITY ...TRUTH AND HONOUR...

I was discussing with someone this morning who alerted me that another Biafran splinter group not affiliated to BLA , Ipob, Massob, ugm , ESN etc might actually be working towards getting support from a group like Wagner. I dismissed that as a huge joke but a second thought, I felt Wagner will be a big differential in their quest for Biafra.

Wagner will give them more than 1,000,000 years, man hour experience in the battle field, then alliance with Wagner might draw the ire of western powers though.

All the same I think peace of mind is the ultimate thing

There are now so many different groups fighting for Biafra from different fronts , while this is a bit scary,it simply means that the longer Nnamdi Kanu is held unjustly ,the shorter time Nigeria has to get it right until it reaches a point of no return. The breaking point ga adị égwu because Nigeria will end up getting confronted by different Biafran groups with different agenda, ideologies, leadership, funding, goals. By then releasing Nnamdi Kanu will have no effect on control over the struggle for Biafra .

Imagine Nigeria military of just 200,000 fighting a diverse Biafra groups without any affiliation with each other and numbering more than 2 million invisible, well trained and agile warriors from different parts and tribes of Biafra

Just make Sure you keep your foolish nonsense to yourselves in your Region and on your own side of the River Niger

If you have decided to burn your Homeland to dust and ashes that is your Problem

We must not hear even 'Pim' from you or IPOB in the SW and Lagos

Most people who dismiss the seriousness of those separatists fighters are mostly people who are based in Lagos or south west . But we that based in east are seeing things first hand. The milatry are even afraid to face those boys frontally, Nigeria army are fighting them thru media propoganda only, imagine in ihiala axis those guy in their military camo with ak-47 patrolling along federal express road that has Nigeria military checkpoint nearby. And each time the army make move to confront them in their camp, the army usually ran away with heavy casualties, but Nigeria media don't report it.

There is no difference between Vietnam and SE. You can't win against a group fighting guerilla war inside jungle. America sent hundreds of thousands of soldiers to Vietnam along with thousands of planes and other heavy weapons yet they couldn't defeat the poorly eqquiped Vietcongs.

The only way out for the army or government is to find a way to convince Igbos to go against those guys, otherwise nothing.

exactly, another dangerous dimension now is that those guys have upgraded their weaponry. U can now see some them now brandishing new Israeli Uzi guns, not even AK -47 again, with Toyota Hilux truck they seized from Nigeria army . I think the absence of Nnamdi kanu , gave ekpa the opportunity to advance the struggle to full armed struggle. At this stage ,releasing kanu has become useless to Niger govt. The govt is confused right now as I see it. Things have gone beyond kanu's control now. And those guys has tasted the respect and dignity that comes from carrying gun, unlike when kanu was calling for peaceful protest, and the army was killing and disgracing them.
