Defence Headquarters has kept mum over the labelling of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF)‚ Muslim Airforce‘ by controversial Islamic scholar, Dr Zakir Naik. Naik is said to be in Nigeria on the invitation of the Sultan of Sokoto and his social media posts have caused outrage by netizens.

The Islamic scholar is a fugitive following his trouble with Indian authorities arising from his preachings which allegedly incite religious intolerance and suicide bombing.

The Indian authorities in late 2016, outlawed Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) on the grounds that he had encouraged and assisted the group’s members in attempting to spread animosity, hatred or other negative sentiments among various religious communities and groups.

Upon his arrival in Nigeria, the fugitive preacher posted pictures with officers of the Nigerian Air Force and tagged them “Muslim Airforce”  a post that generated heated debates on social media.

He also posted a photo with the Nigerian Immigration officers and tagged it “Muslim Immigration” The controversial preacher also in a post with the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar called the traditional ruler “head of state”  despite Nigeria having an elected president.

When contacted, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) spokesman Air Cdre Edward Gabkwet declined comment. Meanwhile the acting director of defence information Brig-Gen Tukur Gusau also did not respond to inquiries sent to his official line.

An online news outfit, SaharaReporters had reported that the personnel were arrested and detained since October 13, 2021 over alleged disobedience to the military standing rules.

How will the top military authority speak when they share the same fanatical ideological inspiration, beliefs, and indoctrination with this terrorists? Was this not how Isah Pantami, Adebayo Shittu were advocating for Osama Bin Laden yet were made ministers under the Buhari govt?

This is the lawless country one is unfortunate to share nationality with fanatics terrorists and their supporters in govt who openly insult the sensibility of people.

Now, in what capacity is this terrorists visiting the NAF? The Nigerian Air Force personnel that posed with him in that photo were fully aware of the secular nature of the Nigerian state but chose to go welcome the guest of the Sultan

Well, the IBB evil regime subtly inducted Nigeria into OIC and the Christains in government took a sidon look approach. Buhari with his fanatic Islamic conviction openly advocated for bandits/BH terrorists. Now, they are no more hiding it as they are doing more worst things and the cycle continues.So it is not surprising.

Looks more like a sponsored post to embarrass the Sultan and the Islamic cleric during his visit here in Nigeria.

As a Muslim cleric that he is , I am aware that the Indian govt and Hindu national ruling party have been very hostile to muslims in India and if he is here to see the Sultan,it must have been cleared by the authorities. They should free the man and the Sultan jor, they pose no security threat to Nigeria.

The Sultan himself is a retired Military officer and would be fully aware that the cleric's presence on Nigeria will pose no risk to our national security.

When I saw the post on twitter I wept for this country.

Obviously the sultan of sokoto is subtly romancing with terrorists and terrorism, and also trying to ursup constituted authorities.

Why will the terrorist call the sultan head of state?
Why did the sultan and the sultanate not call him to order?

Why is there no rebuttal from the sultan distancing himself from the treasonable statement made by the terrorist?

Why did the Nigerian army not court marshall its officers involved in this threat to national security and peaceful coexistence?
