Wants Imo CP, others prosecuted

Written by Adegwu John

The organised labour on Friday declared Wednesday, 8th November 2023 a nationwide strike following the Monday’s manhandling of the national president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC ), Comrade Joe Ajaero in Imo State.

Deputy president of NLC, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, and the deputy president of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) in a joint briefing with journalists in Abuja gave implementation of six-point demands to the federal government to avert the looming strike.

Among the demands include; the immediate removal of the Imo State commissioner of police, area commander, and other state government officials fingered in the alleged brutalisation of Ajaero and other workers who were humiliated in the assault.

Labour union that we have pocketed.

They are only making noise!

The next time they will have a voice will be in 2031 after the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR)

There's need for a genuine Labour Party in Nigeria. Unfortunately, workers don't seem to care about that. They only want to complain.

Who be "we"? Tinubu sabi your papa?

The way some Yoruba people keep deluding themselves as if Tinubu being president has any bearing on their reality. Tinubu's Presidency only favours his family, friends, and employees.

The rest of ya'll have no stake in anything except bragging about sharing the same tribe with the president, and the earlier you start to realise that online bragging rights will not feed you and your family, the better for you.

PLEASE DON'T MAKE THINGS MESSIER THAN THEY ARE NOW. AJAERO IS HUMAN LIFE NOT ETERNAL LIFE AND HE IS PERSONAL NOT NATIONAL. SO LABOUR SHOULD PLEASE BE CIVILISED AND STOP BEHAVING LIKE HAMAS IN GAZA.

Even though I don't like what they did to him but Ajaero is only fighting for his pocket. What has he achieved for the poor masses since he assumed office? Nothing.

And that's enough reason for the entire country to be grounded with a nationwide strike? And what are the demands? Removal of the Commissioner of Police and area commanders. How will the removal of Imo state commissioner of police and area commanderschange anything? Are you guys even serious at all?

If Ajaero feels he has been unfairly harassed and brutalized, the sensible thing to do is to go to court. Sue the police for whatever claims the brutalization is worth and not throw the entire country into an unnecessary strike.

What exactly are you insinuating? You want them to leave that evil act and transgression to slide just like that?

One thing with evil is that once you give it a room, it stays and never leaves. Tomorrow must surely be another persons turn. The next victim of this atrocious act this time, maybe a judge or a governor from your tribe.

Nothing is more sacrilegious than the president of the NLC openly identifying and campaigning for a political party. It has never happened before in the history of this country and the NLC chairman must be ready to face the consequences of his political partisanship.

From Labour Party(LP) sir smiley

The National Assembly should, as a matter of national interest and protecting our democracy, make laws to separate NLC from a political party.

It's dishonest to force workers , including workers working at INEC and Courts, meant to be apolitical and other workers in different political parties, to support the political interest of Labour Party because they belong to NLC.

What Mr Ajaero is doing by using NLC to push the political agenda of Labour Party is undemocratic and unacceptable. Check my signature for free stuffs!
