Thanks alot. I appreciate your response. The cost of dependent is 22k but the husband is fully funded. I think the VO is thinking how can they survive since dependents are ineligible to work.

The VO can see from the F2-I20 how you intend to cover the $22k, without the proof the I20 documents won't be issued in the first place. It means the money to survive is secured already , if asked during the interview about how you intend to cover expenses, all you need do is demonstrate how you will cover expenses during your stay in the USA i.e you will offer to show evidence you have the money secured in your account , savings, and also show other sources of income available to the family, like if you have assets or additional family support and your own funds too. Mention your spouse has full funding and accommodation for 1yr is secured.

Good afternoon experts in the house.

I need help please. My Masters degree transcript was issued on Credit Weighted Average (CWA), not GPA. I'm applying to a University in United States, and I've been told to enter my GPA. The CWA I obtained was 67%. What should I enter as GPA please?

Sorry to hear about your refusal, the VO already addressed the main concern why your application was not approved.

Answers to your questions.
1. You can reapply anytime, even the following day, however be ready to answer questions like, “you were here the last time, what has changed?”
You should also be aware that If you couldn’t provide any significant change in your situation like reduce COA or deficit, or a convincing statement to back up your case, that’s most likely to lead to another denial”.

2. Bond Agreement? A document…
The reason why the VO’s are usually not interested in any document you might be holding is because they are aware of how easy to get papers in Nigeria, be it fake or original, with connections to serve a purpose at a given time, and since you’ve been there too and see how fast they make decisions on applications, so this is most likely not going to work, I’d say it’s 50/50.

Possible Solution.
NB:
Don’t be too desperate trying to meet a deadline of a resumption, because without a Visa, you can’t even go anywhere…

** If your current school can’t increase your scholarship to decrease your deficit, search and apply to another school with less COA, more funding and with no or less deficit, probably for May or September 2024 intake, that way, you can easily argue your case and answer what changed in your application in your next interview…

#This is just from my personal experience and knowledge, I wish you the best in your next application.

Thank you so much for a detailed response. I have reached out to my school to defer my admission to next year fall, which they have agreed to. I am also applying to other schools with the hope of getting more funding.

In light of this, in my subsequent application, do you suggest I omit the role of my company in my education, even though they are the one paying the tuition deficit and use my husband as sponsor. Or should I use dual sponsors, that is my organization paying the fee deficit, which will be less than $10k and my husband paying the room and board and other incidental expenses?

Thank you.

Guru in the house, please help me judge this transcript. My sister attended yesterday
4F2:

Abuja Embassy

Me: Good morning
Vo:Where are you going?
Me: I am going to university of Massachusetts to visit my husband currently doing his PhD under the supervision of Professor Sam. Additionally, my last baby was born when my husband already left for his studies in the US.
HmVo: How long you want to stay
Me: 4week. I will be resuming back to my work on 28th because I will be facilitating a training and I will also be attending my father burial on 7th of Feb.
Vo: tell your husband to invite if he want you to come
Next:Blue paper. Doesn't allow me to talk

Please guru in the house your advice is highly needed. She is thinking maybe B1/B2 is the best

You we're to straight on the VO, he knew you just memorized everything Father's burial isn't a big deal cos you couple forfeit it.
Try talking to the VO in a pleading like manner not Over Confidence

Quick one, guys:

I don’t know what you guys are currently doing on this 🇺🇸 path, but just keep on, doing the right thing(s). The end result would be worthy.

- Emotions? Keep it off.

- Funds? Be ready to spend on the right things, not anyhow.

Also, there is no best time to enter; the best time is when you finally enter, not when you think you should have entered or would enter.

Overall, be prayerful and hopeful; there is no assurance here.

In all sincerity, I’m rooting for you ALL.

Luck and White!

Unweighted is your GPA or what is called final GPA. Unweighted is higher than Weighted,

Between now and the next Fall is a lot of time for your circumstances to change, i.e getting a new admission with a lesser COA or getting your school to reduce your deficit or something, hopefully you receive funding from where you’re applying to,

Also in your next application, stating that your company or husband will be your sponsor will be determined by the COA you’d be using, because if you’re able to get more funding, you could have a deficit that’d be as low as $10 - $20k or even lesser and that way, you can just state that you or your husband will be your sponsor and you current job can serve as another home tie for you.

NB: This is just based on my personal experience and research.

I really do not get this question right, do you mean your COA is $47,500, and $142,000 is written on your I-20 as your available funds because you presented a bank statement of 86m?

I don’t know if schools does that, i.e stating available balance that is more than the COA on I-20, but if that is the case, your current balance of 76m will also cover your COA even with the current exchange rate, and because you submitted the 86m bank statement to the school and not the embassy, that shouldn’t be a concern…

However, if you could share more about your case before your interview, i.e your program, COA, funds received as scholarship or assistantship (if any), deficit, job, and how you’d be presenting your sponsorship, and other important informations, people are here to guide you to criticize and help to get you ready for your interview.

NB: This is just based on my personal experience and research.

While IELTS and GRE are waived for Nigerians and by many schools in the US respectively, writing these exams especially GRE will depend on the school you’re applying to as some schools still require it (GRE) for their admission.

Also, you will have to do your own research about the scholarship(s) you will be applying for, you can do your research on google, trust me, you’d find more scholarship opportunities than what anyone might advise you to apply to here…

NB: This is just based on my personal experience and research.
