Think it's more of the latter than former plus when the prevailing attitude to SE invitations is if you're not foreign based you won't get a look in that further spurs the desperation to go overseas. To be fair a good number of home based players have always been called up to the national team in recent years but the process has been completely abused by officials looking for short term monetary gain in form of player transfers to back water leagues in Europe rather than an opportunity to give truly exceptional local talent exposure. codemaniacs: When next you wanna quote a write up, try to read with compression firstly. The post you quoted came in paragraphs. First paragraph talked about his intelligence while the second paragraph talked about his good use of English. Where did you read that his good use of English is why I consider him intelligent? Have you even listened to this boy talk? 1 Like |

charlesemeka85:Players like Akanji, david Alaba, adeyemi, eze, oliseh e.t.c were all highly rated but never given the chance at a young age like I won't was given. Nobody said "Iwobi's time will come". "He should wait for his time". e.t.c |

codemaniacs:can you kindly list the caliber of players we had when Sunday Oliseh gave iwobi his debut? Iwobi got his debut which automatically tied him to us against Egypt as a sub. Few of those you mentioned were reached out to once or twice but still said they needed more time just to see if their country of birth will come calling and when they got an invite they didn’t think twice jumping to the opportunity but Alex on first approach choose to rep us.. that’s commitment bro so don’t paint it as if his uncle forced him down our throat Your claim would hv been substantial if Alex isn’t a main stay in the super eagles since the day he made his debut. He has been an important member of the team from the till date, so literally his talent paved way for him not his uncle If he wasn’t good enough he would hv been dumped or won’t be starting games for the super eagles even if his uncle is the president of this country 5 Likes |

ChrisKels:I expressed the same fears too. I think Hojberg probably wants to leave so my guess is for Ndidi to be a squad player, they definitely need good replacements for Bissouma and Sarr as the season is a long one. |

chrisooblog: Over the years I've seen a lot of youth players who made it and many who did not . I am right now in Blackburn in the cold and rain watching a game of youth players. Nigerian players have outstanding athletic ability raw skills and dribbling yes. But game management, football intelligence even the finer technical attributes they struggle. The just have not had the quality coaching required. When I see a player, l don't use Nigerian based units of measurement but the expected standards that are generally expected in Europe. You are very correct. AT THAT TIME , I did not rate V.O he lacked many of the basics and he would not have got into a premier League academy. However, raw athletic ability and blistering pace a big yes. I repeat I said he needed to step back , reappraise himself, get a football education, learn develop and then move forward AT THAT TIME. My posts were very clear. Thats essentially what he has done. Now back to the original issues, unfortunately nearly every area of public funded sndbor be directrd activity in Nigeria has gone into REGRESSION. After 24 years of democracy our electoral system has gone worse not better. The Judiciary is a sham, the legislative a comedy House of dishonourable men and women. Why then would football be any different. As a consequence the new breed of top level Nigerian players are going to have their talent devoloped and created in Europe not Nigeria. Whether they are born in Nigeria or Europe is immaterial. This is the reality. |

komekn:he should join spurs first before you conclude that Bissouma is better than him Ndidi in the past hv done whatever Bissouma did at Brighton and is doing at Spurs currently so relax I hate this mentality of advising our players not to move to certain clubs because of the fear of not having enough playing time. The thing dey boil me whenever I see such posts here. A player can only get better when he is playing with and against the very best To be the best you hv to beat the best 4 Likes |

Boniface actually started playing as a number 10! You can read the interview here! https://www.pulsesports.ug/football/story/victor-boniface-im-different-because-i-dont-watch-strikers-2023091320515241689 Aribo is an attacking midfielder and more technical! Different profile to those two. Don't let Folorunsho deflected goal deceive you ooo! charlesemeka85:
