Cromagnon: And what difference would it had made if you were in the country? You joined the politics, and you couldn't have spoken the truth to your people there that they've been ruining the country with their greed and selfish policies? You won't be sincere… it's I'm in the mind. |

Y'all have no idea how that lecturer has been assaulting students physically and verbally in the time past. People are so quick to judge. Point of correction, the victim is a boy, and not a girl... |

It's funny how people are reacting and venting over a false narrative peddled by the OP. It was a clear case of assault. Lecturer detained the student for trying to leave the class. Student said he entered a wrong class and wants to locate his right class. Lecturer called security on him and the student wanted to call his peeps so they are aware of what happened. The lecturer went berserk beating him up and confiscating his phone after he refused switching it off or handing it over. The lecturer went overboard. 1 Like |

I knew it will come to this when youths started the "no manners" ideology. As Africans, it's absolutely out of place to be rude to our elders. Besides, what is the purpose of being in class if you won't listen and concentrate on the lecture? It could also cause distraction for others. The lecturer is in charge of the class and should be obeyed. Assault is avoidable though I sense that he was aggravated by her audacity. He should learn to control his temper. |

ojuolu:Read the bolded part again. Tell me what is good about those born in 1940 to 1960. Please, tell me exactly the training they had that is good cos you are saying it like those people are the best Nigerians. I dont know what you call home training....but the whatever training they had that led them to embezzle everything in Nigeria....is that a good training? Or do you want to say politicians alone destroy Nigeria and not that generation collectively? You have a generation of people who enjoyed everything, but chose to destroy it all. If they had done things rightly, are we going to be in this situation? If you say this generation of kids is bad...then dont you really think the previous generation before it has the responsibility of making it bad? This is exactly my point. You are saying this generation is bad, but you do not want to put more of the blame on the previous generstion. The remaining ma.d people still alive in that generation are still manipulative. And if that is the generation you belong, of course...you will defend it all like the manipulators you are. All of you in that generation are werey. But if you are not in that generation, it means you are one of the real victims of that generation, because you are finished. I can deduce you are a man, and that bullying spirit of that ma.d generation is in you....trust me...na slaps go re-format am. Many of you will commit suic.ide soon because things will definitely change. No one wants to do things that dont work. You criticize the lifestyle and ways of training kids abroad, but they mostly come out better than you. You run there cos you destroyed your own nation. Are you really ok? You cannot sustain yours ans you say the home training here is better. Your head no correct ooo. Walahi. You manipulators in Nigeria...you keep saying your ways are the best, but you all always come out as looters, destroyers, and wicked people. So, oyinbo bring terrorism, lesbianism and the rest to your place ....right? You better wake up and face the reality that the ways of those 1930 to 1960 people are not the effective ways. If they are, why does almost everyone in the generation you are saying that is good come out to become a potential thief in his office. Even you that is shouting kids are bad...are you good? If I check, you may be a thief at work. But those kids abroad mostly grow up to become responsible. And you run to their country. you...as in you guys in Nigeria. Over 95% of you all are thieves. Yes. So who is more responsible? See eh...you need to be slapped. So, person wey be thief and pen robber dey accuse nations with good citizens. Your head no correct at all. You don kolo. Walahi. Foo.lish people defending rubbish. You will chop slaps ...mark my words. The kids have decided to turn against you ma.d people. Looters and pen robbers. I am sure this one has stolen several times in his office. He has collected bribes too. Who among you is clean? Werey. Your airports are filled with adults collecting bribes...your streets filled with adults in uniform collecting bribes and shooting people anyhow...so those people received the best homes training. See eh...you be werey oooo. And you said they received good home training. Your head no correct at all. As in...madness is in your blood. 1 Like |

Cromagnon: Good you know all these… So never open your mouth again to talk about politicians dominating the people again… because that's what they practice here in this country before and after the Independence. The people see them as demigods, worship, hail, and follow them sheepishly even despite knowing they don't care about the people. Do you think it's easy for the youths to enter into their midst and take over as of now when they are the ones 'selecting and installing one another, imposing themselves on the masses?' How many things have protests solved or reversed? If you don't know what's going on in this country, don't talk about it. |

freshkpomo:So all the trainings and beatings you received...did they stop you from demanding bribes at work? If they really train your generation well, why do we have many pen robbers and thieves at work? The useless people you are defending...are they not the ones that trained the policemen in the street collecting bribes and shooting people anyhow? Who trained the people at airports collecting bribes from people? Who trianed your politicians? Or na ghosts na. And you are condemning the people who trained people making US, UK Canada, etc. great. You guys trained your kids and they destroyed Nigeria...but they trained theirs and you still run there. Yet, you say your way of training kids is the right way. You are ma.d. Are you ok? Are you really ok? You are a manipulator. If you dont shut up...I swear...you go collect e-slap. Ma.dness dey your brain. You trained people well in Naija, yet, they messed up Nigeria....and you say it is still the way to go. You go collect...i swear. Manipulators. Shut the crap up! 1 Like |

SAMBARRY: Your assumption is wrong about my generation and this means your post is based on flawed assumptions. There is no reason for any teacher to physically assault a teenager in university. It is a failing of the teacher. He should be sued by the student unfortunately it is very likely that the jury may be composed of people with your type of thinking. It is also the reason I have no respect for universities where undergraduates are treated as secondary school students. |
Re: OAU Lecturer Assault Student For Refusing To Switch Off Her Phone While In Class by Druss(m): 6:44am On Nov 10, 2023 |
Mom007: I didn't say 'don't deal with the disrespect' if indeed it is disrespect and not an individual who is allowing other issues to cloud their judgement. Physical assault is a no-no. What if the student had an unknown health issue and this happened? If the student collapses, then what? The teacher lacks judgement. |

salem1996: So this is what you would do in a business with young people reporting to you? You would justify communicating your frustrations with physical actions? The lecturer is a mature adult. He clearly has anger issues. |
Re: OAU Lecturer Assault Student For Refusing To Switch Off Her Phone While In Class by ThierryJay: 7:38am On Nov 10, 2023 |
TheBookmaker:. It's unfortunate. But knowing OAU management, they'd likely take the side of the lecturer and further punish the student. |

This is a wrong info. The student is a MALE with natural dread. I was in my department (Spider building) when this happened. This guy is in 200L and he mistakenly entered a senior level class, he noticed that and he went outside. The Lecturer called him back and accused him of impersonating someone, the lecturer called a security personnel and they harassed the student, and wanted to forcefully collect his phone. The lecturer then hit him and broke his phone. And the security guy dragged him out. |

SAMBARRY: Many people on Nairaland talk through their anus and use their brain to shit. How else can someone even support that level of barbarian character that a lecturer will assault a student in a university. The case is being reviewed by several bodies and the said lecturer is in serious trouble. 1. The OAU VC has condemns in strong terms the actions of the lecturer 2. The OAU spokesperson has condemned what the lecturer did. and the lecturer is presently under investigation 3. Two Student bodies are already preparing to prosecute the lecturer on behalf of the student and he will likely be dismissed and go to jail. 4. Even the lecturer is a known serial abuser but is already begging and apologising to the affected student. 5. The politicians that you claim will help him are no where to be found. 6. Maybe you should go and defend your barbaric lecturer https://fij.ng/article/explained-what-happened-between-oau-student-and-lecturer-in-viral-video/ https://gazettengr.com/oau-lecturer-beat-up-200l-student-after-mistakenly-entering-his-class/ https://saharareporters.com/2023/11/08/video-power-drunk-obafemi-awolowo-university-lecturer-harasses-assaults-student-over https://punchng.com/probe-begins-as-oau-lecturer-punches-student/ |

epainos: I read everything you wrote again and again and I did come to the conclusions, you don't know me and you are limited in your appraisal of Nigeria and the world all over based on your silos thought process. I am a man of few words, therefore, abuse and name callings are not really in my lexicon. I won't dignify you with any odd or derogatory words. I assumed you are in your late 20s or early 30s. That set of people never see anything wrong with them but everything wrong with older generations. Well, I am not a victim of any system and I have never stolen a dime, collected bribe, defrauded or cheated anyone in my life. I have been married for close to 15 years, I have never raised my voice at my wife, neither have I raised my hand at her or call her names-never! She is here on this platform and reading you, very bemused. We are very well educated and refined and we have kids we are grooming to be like us. I am almost certain if you see me in person, you will be forced to retract what you wrote up there. Haven said all that, I repeat it again, I am yet to see what the teacher did wrong. His response is not overly inappropriate to me. You already shared your thought, I will stick with mine. Again, like I pointed out earlier, let the young lady seek redress in a court of law if she is aggrieved. Her parents can sue the Lecturer and the school for damages. That is what I, like every other civilised person will do if I feel my right has been infringed upon by any means. Your advocacy or abuse here won't cut it se o gbo. Pele , Olorun a wo eh. |

Cromagnon: Your words keep betraying you for your lack of sense. I'm not so stupid to queue in the sun in the name of voting for pricks like you with the hope of them turning the country around when l know already that all you politicians are same. Bunch of thieving oppressors. That's why the country has remained how it was over hundred years ago. Ordinary electricity you can't fix. Roads are bad, instead of fixing the roads, you were looking for stronger cars. Insecurity ravaging the country, and you keep looking the other way because you're no different from them. If this current state of the country's type of Democracy is what you call Democracy, then you should be totally ashamed of yourself as a politician. |

For your info, before now there was always immediate consequence for each action until the West came and disorganized the African settings. Those day, them nor Born you well to steal, will get an instant judgement and that was Africa of Old not the Democratic thieves we have now which is a western set up... People like you won't stand when someone disrespect your parents, but here you are encouraging little girl to toll that path. Mumu west you dey hail so, man don begin Bleep man for yansh.
