The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has refuted a viral video of him stepping down ahead of Saturday’s election.

Anyanwu said the viral video was edited to manipulate and deceive the electorate in the state.

In a statement by the Director of his campaign council, Dumebi Ifeanyichukwu, on Friday, Anyanwu urged people of the state to ignore the video.

He linked the fake video to mischief makers.

The statement reads: “The SamJones Governorship Campaign Council is compelled to address a malicious video circulating, falsely claiming that our esteemed candidate, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, has withdrawn from the gubernatorial race.

“We emphatically state that this information is categorically FALSE. After a thorough examination of the video, it became evident that it was heavily edited with manipulated audio to mislead the public.”

Anyanwu will face the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodinma, in a keenly contested governorship election on Saturday.

The PDP candidate had expressed optimism to claim power from Uzodinma.

Senator Anyanwu never withdrew from the Imo Governorship race.....

Uzodinma banking on blackmail

Our attention has been drawn to a trending video on social media purportedly claiming that the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Saturday, November 11 off-season election in Imo state, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu popularly known as "Samdaddy" has withdrawn.

This video is not only fake, blatant lie from the pit of hell, very mischievious, ridiculous and misleading, but a senseless vile sheepishly formulated by the outgoing Governor Uzodinma to deceive the public.

A critical look at the said video indicates that it was criminally edited and super imposed by these mischief makers to suit Uzodinma and his party's criminal tendencies. Please, ignore such falsehood as Senator Anyanwu never withdrawn and does not have such intention in this attention he has almost won.

The truth of the matter is that Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu and the candidate of the PDP is a big threat to Uzodinma, who has become dried in both the physical and spiritual since Imo people started booing him.

It is important to tell Uzodinma and his supporters that no amount of blackmail and empty propaganda will ever save him from the looming defeat on Saturday.

Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu remains a candidate to beat in this Saturday Governorship election. He is prominently in the race and will never ever think of withdrawing from a contest over 70% percent of observers have ticked him as the likely winner of the poll. Please, be guided accordingly.

Uzodinma the likes of Wike , win by all means people whether person die or not.
It was done to provoke voter apathy, knowing people who wants to vote for Anyanwu won't come out again to vote for him thereby increasing his own chances

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.....

He is expected to come a distant third or fourth if he isn't careful.. Even PDP members will vote LP. Ihedioha's people have been waiting to end his Governorship ambition before it begins.

There will be no election tomorrow, it's done and sealed, only Uzodinma can lose to Uzodinma.

And if you don’t know, Sam daddy and Ihedioha was on campaign ground through his governorship campaign. Keep on deceiving yourself here. Uzodinma will be heavily defeated in the poll

My good friend, are you now omnipresent? How can you say you are in Kogi & then you are in Imo at the same time. I am not deceiving myself and you are very far away from Imo.

I have been here since before the Presidential Election. Tell me where you are or show me a campaign video where you saw Ihedioha & SamDaddy?

Stop deceiving people who are not in Imo presently.

Ihedioha will not vote a man who conspired and was the first to congratulate Uzodinma after the SC verdict.

Hope, regrettably, not by popular demand will slide into his second term unperturbed.

Everyone wasn't against Hope then because He fought against Rochas. All of them teamed together to unseat Rochas

Now the story is different as Hope Uzodinma turned to be worst than Rochas so He'll experience the same.

Even with rigging, Hope will lose woefully in Imo
