jpj: Page 1. This is covered in the CRS grid (not calculator) section of Post 2 (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/criteria-comprehensive-ranking-system/grid.html) Spouse Canadian work experience should earn CRS points for the family (PA) according to the grid extract below if it is considered valid work experience from IRCC perspective (for what qualifies as valid WE see post 3 and 5). When you have completed your own studies you should be able to get another 15 CRS points. If you have TEF and IELTS and your TEF is CLB7 and above all round.....you should target the French draws too (last draw was 486) and may likely get ITA even before graduation all else being equal.... Good day everyone, when you receive a request for visa letter, Please what are the payments I need to make when sending my passport to the the same VFS center in which I did my biometric. Do I need to pay for courier and package transmission fees ? Or only courier fees. Thanks |

I found this old quote from Blackbuddy. It explains what Cochtrane has been trying to say very simply. I hope people read and understand it. It was written 5 years ago in 2017 and is still relevant today. Of course, people are free to disagree with this view Especially those who believe that the POF is assessed based on the "official" exchange rate on your AOR date. Even if IRCC assess POF at AOR using the official rate on that day......it's about more than the Canadian dollar equivalent at AOR, it's about the real value of the money to you when you begin to spend it on landing.......Naira is not what you'll spend in Canada. And unless you get a job before you land, it's likely you will begin spending your POF from the airport. Let's even assume 708 is inflated and unrealistic, anyone who bought 4 weeks ago at 606 would still be making a loss compared to if they had bought that same amount at 406 2 years ago, when they started saving the POF.....even if it was only $1,000. It's very very very difficult to save in foreign currency, but in my view....most prudent thing POF wise. Passing POF eligibility with IRCC is one thing......the value of that POF to you is quite another. The best way to merge those two objectives is to.....#BuyDollar https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/728#59148316 CIC is interested in the POF as dollars but you are allowed to hold the equivalent as Naira, pounds, rupees, cedis, etc. So you are expected to have the dollar equivalent till conclusion of the application review process. If on Monday your POF is say, 4m naira and equal to $20,000.00 which is the expected POF for a family of 4 (this is just an example please), if exchange rate fluctuates and on Friday, your 4m is no longer equal to $20,000.00 but is now equal to $18,000.00, can you say have the complete POF? Of course not, because you no longer have the equivalent of $20,000.00. I am not out to scare you please but just to clarify the expectation, hence I illustrated with the example of the 2014 FSW PR set so you monitor the exchange rate and increase your POF accordingly or just get the complete dollars and keep so that if naira goes up or down, you're not concerned as your $20k remains complete. This thinking keeps you ready incase you receive request for updated POF which is for the VO to see if your POF is still up to the dollar equivalent. Remember, the currency used to measure the POF is Canadian dollars not naira so please ensure your Naira POF is equal to the dollars expected for your family size at all times. Hope you understand now.[/quote] 1 Like |

Canadaijnamen: I would not advise you to convert back to Naira. Try your best to top up in USD or CAD. That POF in Naira that looks complete today, when (not if) the exchange rate goes up, will it still be sufficient? Read the original post by Blackbuddy again, it explains the danger of holding POF in Naira, Rupees etc. It will usually not look like a problem until FX rates move by a large margin (as it happened this year). He said: "If on Monday your POF is say, 4m naira and equal to $20,000.00 which is the expected POF for a family of 4 (this is just an example please), if exchange rate fluctuates and on Friday, your 4m is no longer equal to $20,000.00 but is now equal to $18,000.00, can you say have the complete POF?........Just get the complete dollars and keep so that if naira goes up or down, you're not concerned as your $20k remains complete." 3 Likes |

No, you are not the only one, IRCC did a maintenance on their site around Tuesday and since then everyone has gotten an incomplete personal details section. I also have the same problem as well as about 4 non-Nigerians that I know. I've contacted their support as well as the other guys too. You can message the technical support too and hopefully they will fix it soon. Cheers ruggedjew: |

It is still on hold and that is what has been delaying me from applying for the express entry. Please did anyone experience this and how did you resolve it. I hope to be in the pool by December because by April next year i may loose age point. Help pls. |

Qwertyuser: Gather the money in your account in case they ask for an updated account statement. Most things about immigration are locked in on the date you submit. If an RFE is raised to show a new statement of account, then you can do that. But for now, open a dorm account and save in USD. |

I greet you all. Have a quick question. Is it true that IRCC is no longer accepting fixed deposits certificates from Microfinance banks as POF? |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Ifywhyteman: 1:59am On Nov 12, 2023 |
Funky123: It is best to evaluate your highest certificate with WES. If you have two certificates, evaluate the higher one with Wes so you pay once. |

Ifywhyteman: Don’t know IRCC’s stand on this but we’re all aware this is how most arrangee POF are presented and considering how both those offering and looking for this service are loud about it on social media, its only a matter of time before it casts. |

Hello guys, Please I want to make inquiry on behalf of a friend. His marriage started having problem since when he started having financial crises due to some problems with his business., and now it has gotten to a point where he wants to seperate and move on with his life. He is only married in church with the wife and they have 2 children together. He wants to apply for Canadian permanent residence through the Alberta Sibling connection. Now, his question is: 1. Does he need any divorce documents since his marriage was just an ordinary church certificate and not a legal document from court? 2. He once applied for Study Visa where he indicated his married status and also submitted that church marriage certificate as proof, though the visa was denied on grounds of insufficient funds. 3. What document does he need to present to IRCC to show that his marriage(church) has ended? 4. Please how can he go about his application without the documents of his uncooperative wife and still have his 2 kids in his application for future sponsorship? He wants to know how to go about it before commencing the process. Thank you |

1soul:Yes, you do need documents to prove any marital status you claim.. for the fact you had claimed married in a previous application means you can either still be married, legally separated or divorced. if you claim legally separated, you have to provide evidence and your spouse has to do medicals, PCC etc. there are lots of similar cases online... Otherwise if you can't provide your spouse's documents, you've to divorce. The only way to have your kids in your application will be if you're granted custody or coparenting. Check this link below.. https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/separated-from-wife-but-no-divorce-cic-asked-for-divorce-certificate-what-should-i-do.530499/ 1 Like 1 Share |
