Hi, good morning. Hopefully, somebody replies this message. Please, what's the present CAD rate to pay for study permit in naira?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 12:41pm On Nov 13, 2023
Yes, if you are using a sponsor, it is advised that you submit financial proof
Badadvisor:
Hello please do sponsor still need to submit statement of account for pof after depositing 10k into my cibc for the gic?
Would my sponsor statement of account still be requested for?

Hi, please I have a similar question;

I got a refusal letter last week Wednesday from IRCC for my study permit saying; You have not provided a valid Letter of Acceptance from the designated learning institution in Canada at which you wish to study'.

I reached out to my College, and they are as confused as I am because that is the letter that their students have always used in their study permit applications.

How do I go about my re-application?

I intend to reapply quickly because session starts on the 8th of January, 2024. I will appreciate any insights, guys! Thank you so much.

Which school?

There must be a mistake somewhere; you can apply again write an LOE and possibly attach a screenshot of your conversation with the school. Request for GCMS

Your case may different, but this may be reason of refusals applicants may be hearing from IRCC soon if care is not taken ...Two weeks from now or from December 1 2023 DLI will be required to confirm LOA...

The portal to verify letter of acceptance has been provided by IRCC

First is not advisable to apply so fast without going through your LOA and check if its DLI approved. You need to understand Jan is put of context cos less than 2 months won't fly for your study permit. I would suggest requesting for a refund from the school and start a fresh application from DLI listed institution. September 2024 is open

Most schools require both for admission. However, if your transcript isn't available, you may be lucky to find one or more schools that accept certificates (pending when you can provide your transcript). But you must be able to provide your transcript before the deadline given by the school.

You can apply for a reconsideration if you are sure you did not mistakenly upload another document in lieu of the LoA, and that was the only reason for the refusal. Reconsideration will save you time and money.
To confirm you uploaded the correct document, go to the IRCC portal / Gckey account to view the name of the document you submitted, and then return to where you saved the LoA. You stand a good chance of getting it approved if it is an oversight by the officer.

While in Canada, she submitted an Outside of Canada study permit application (IMM 1294), which is acceptable. Note that this is not an in-Canada application (IMM 5709), as the VO would have cancelled the application if she applied for in-Canada study permit (IMM5709). That said, there is a difference between the in-Canada and Outside Canada applications. With an in-Canada study permit application, having a visitor visa does not make you eligible. To be eligible to apply from inside Canada as a visitor (a study permit is processed at a visa office in Canada, and the permit is mailed to your address; PPR is not required), you must meet specific criteria; one such requirement is completing a course or program prerequisite to securing a school admission to a DLI. With the outside-of-Canada study permit (IMM 1294, if using a gckey account), the application is processed at a visa office outside Canada. Once you receive your PPR, you are now allowed to submit your passport at a visa office in Ottawa if you are in Canada at the time of approval. As I mentioned earlier, this process is not an in-Canada application.

I believe the denial has nothing to do with the current location. Review the following;
Sources of the funds, especially if there are lump sums
Proof of relationship to sponsor, if applicable
Is the program relevant to her present and future career path
Program redundancy in relation to previous education
halle2:
Hello everyone
Please has anyone here with visitor visa status in Canada successfully applied for a study permit while in Canada? A family relative is in a dilemma because she was denied study permit while here in Canada based on insufficient funds and that the purpose of visit is not consistent with a temporary stay based on what she provided in her application. Please note that she had paid the full tuition fee for the one year program plus approx N10M in her account.

One other thing is that she stated her Nigerian address as her residence but someone said she should have used her current address in Canada. The reason she did that was because of the belief that she is not eligible to apply for study permit from inside Canada. Note that she is still within her 6month validity as a visitor.

Must she go back to Nigeria to reapply? We can address the financial concerns raised, it's just navigating this issue on a visitor status that is our main concern. Her husband and kids are back in Nigeria and are worried as well.

Thanks

Please save yourself unnecessary prayers by using a commercial bank. Please read previous posts and see the advice given. I understand that VO’s frown at commercial banks cos of the stays CBN gave them .It has worked in the past does not mean it will work for you. You can transfer the funds to a commercial bank and then include both statements stating that you included the merchant bank cos it is ur salary account for proof of source.

My school is in New Brunswick and I'm taking a flight to Montreal, what are the chances they ask me for a connecting flight to New Brunswick at the Montreal POE. I would like to stay at Montreal for some days.

The visa is for entry into the country, what if you want to take a coach or a train? I don’t see it as a problem. But it is best you go to ur province of study make village things no go enter. U can go visit Montreal later.

Send an email for reconsideration addressing the refusal and telling them kindly reconsider by reviewing it well as you have attached the letter also attach the response you got from your school
then reapply
And wait for either of the 2

Hello, does it mean applicant will have to verify the LOA issued to them by DLI themselves? Or DLI will have to do the verification before issuing LOA to students?

On the application form, is it correct to state her current residence as Nigeria or Canada? We were already thinking of stating her address as Canada in the reapplication and explaining that she erroneously stated Nigeria because that is her permanent residence. We are being careful not to give any impression of misrepresentation.

Thanks again.

I would say it is very risky to reapply while in Canada because staying too long on that visit visa is not safe, what if the second application was rejected..... And the 6months is already near, to reenter Canada will be tough!
To even get approval on the student visa will be tough also.

I would suggest she exit Canada immediately and run the student visa from Nigeria.

That Canada visit visa will even be a plus for her.....

On own humble opinion o, not necessary mean she should follow suit
