World Water Day: Lagos water crisis ‘worsening’, group says

The lack of state-owned pipe-borne water in the homes of Lagos residents has continued to be a source of concern, a non-profit group, Corporate Accountability and Public Advocacy Africa (CAPPA) has said.

At a press event to mark this year’s World Water Day, the group said its monitoring team’s visit to state-owned waterworks showed that most of them are not operational.

The group said the waterworks it visited include the ones at Maryland, Mushin, Ikorodu, Obalende, Agbowa, Onikan, Ikoyi, and Amuwo Odofin.

You only failed to mention that the poor are even the ones weeping on behalf of the rich who fail in their civic responsibility. And yet, they keep dreaming about Japa every day.

Nigeria government does nothing for the masses, yet they want to harden it, by taxation.

I hope at the end of the day, something meaningful will be made use of the money generated, because it looks and seems like he and the ministry will embezzle 80% of the money generated.

The heading of this news is misleading...what he approved is Capital Gains Tax not Property Tax; they are not the same thing!

Rich men should pay more tax than the poor/ average. Provided it does affect the house rents for the poor/ average.

Why don't you want it to affect house rent? Pray to be rich, so you can be the only one to pay tax.
