Hello guys,

I am scheduled to renew my Nigerian international passport at the Nigerian embassy in Ottawa in December. I applied for the 5 yr passport. However, I have changed my mind and would like to switch it to the 10yrs passport and pay the extra fee now that I have some extra money. I don't want to go through passport renewal again anytime soon. How can I go about this?

folla:
3-4 months is ideal.

Outside of the above, get a contact at the Law School to help you follow up.

Thank you.

Ottawa embassy do issue 10yr passport. Got mine last December and they were very fast in delivery within 1 week. You will see it on their website if it is currently available. Just the same way you selected 5yrs, just select 10yrs if it is currently available.

I had the same predicament, first applied for 5 years and later had to apply for 10yrs. I was told to apply for the 10years afresh and seek for a refund of the payment for 5 years already made.

Ohh damn, I'm not sure I will want to reapply again cus I got this my December appointment in July which was five month ago. My visa expires in May 2024 so I do not have much time. When you reapply for the 10 year fresh, when did you do it and when was the earlier appointment you got? Also, what was the process of seeking a refund and how long did it take to get the refund back?

I would like to get the 10 year passport but if it will slow me down as regards to time, I would just forgo it for now.

No, it did not affect my appointment date. You would just need to re-apply for the 10 years. I remember doing that without any change to appointment date. You dont need to change your appointment date as far as i can remember.

The refund process took about 4 to 5 weeks before my account was credited.

I just dug into my archive e-mail:

Send an e-mail to support@innovate1services.com on your interest to apply for 10 years. They will respond. Although, i followed up with refund@innovate1services.com on the refund. You would have to fill a form for the refund but they will guide you accordingly.

My passport expires end of next year. When is the best time to book an appointment?

I was thinking of doing it around May next year. Don't know if that might be late

May is not late as long as you are able to get a scheduled appointment date. They were pretty efficient when i did mine.

Just curious. Are there things that only Nigerians can help with?

Just wondering if you cannot get some diversity and redundancy so you do not rely on Just this one.

Salaam.

Go to their website and apply. It's utoronto.ca. They offer MASc in Computing with concentration in data science. That's the closest they offer in terms of explicit data science. Otherwise, you can apply to their Statistics program and you will also get the option to choose several data science courses, especially those leveraging on statistics. I did that Statistics program and can tell you for free it's not a walk in park, so be sure what you want to get into. The MASc is more expensive and relatively easier to get into as long as you have the money, but there are scholarship options available, e.g. Vector Scholarship. The Statistics program is cheaper, but more difficult to get into and to pass. If you want to attend the University of Toronto, make sure you know what you are doing. Nobody is going to hold your hand through your course.

Hi,

Kindly send your number, I'll ask admin to add you to an Edmonton group.(Hopefully it's not filled up yet).
I know a couple Property managers you could reach out to ask if they have apartments available for rent.
It's probably better to rent and have a feel of Edmonton to know if it's works for you and have enough time to make informed decision on buying. Apartments of $1400-1500 in Edmonton was $2,200-$2800 when I was in Toronto.
I usually recommend SW(South) it's safer, newer neighborhood, easy drive to anywhere in Edmonton via Henday HW.

All the best in your choice&Move.
