Hi there,
I'm happy to help you with your questions about relocating to Canada through trade school.
Chances of getting a study and work permit
Your chances of getting a study and work permit under an HVAC trade school program are quite good. HVAC is a skilled trade in high demand in Canada, and there is a shortage of qualified workers. As such, the Canadian government is encouraging immigration of skilled tradespersons.
In order to be eligible for a study and work permit, you will need to meet the following requirements:
You must have been accepted into a full-time study program at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
You must be enrolled in a program that is at least six months long.
You must have a valid passport or travel document.
You must meet the minimum language proficiency requirements in English or French.
You must have sufficient funds to support yourself during your studies and have access to medical coverage.
In addition to these general requirements, there are a few specific requirements for study and work permits for skilled tradespersons. These requirements include:
You must have a job offer from an employer in Canada.
The job offer must be in a skilled trade that is in demand in Canada.
The employer must be willing to pay you a wage that is comparable to the prevailing wage for the position.
Working after training
If you are successful in getting a study and work permit, you will be able to work full-time while you are studying. You will also be able to work full-time after you complete your training and apprenticeship.
The average hourly wage for HVAC technicians in Canada is $25.78, which is significantly higher than the average hourly wage for all occupations in Canada ($26.18). HVAC technicians also have good job security, with a low unemployment rate of 3.5%.
Additional considerations
In addition to the information provided above, there are a few other things to consider when relocating to Canada through trade school:
You will need to obtain the necessary licenses and certifications to work as an HVAC technician in Canada.
You may need to take additional courses or training to meet the Canadian standards.
It is important to research the job market in the area where you plan to live to ensure that there is a demand for HVAC technicians.
Overall, relocating to Canada through trade school is a great option for skilled tradespersons who are looking for a rewarding career with good job security and high wages.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello,
Please I will be needing any form of assist.
I applied for my study permit visa and did my biometrics on the 22nd of September, 2023. I already did my medicals on the 11th of September, 2023 and the result was sent to IRCC by the panel physician on 16th of September, 2023. I received a message on the 6th of October requesting for my medicals, which was sent same day by submitting a case specific inquiry and attaching my e-medical document, which i got a feedback few days later saying the document was received. On the 7th of November while doing my daily check on my IRCC portal to confirm any update, i noticed my medical status now shows 'We did not receive the results of your required medical exam. Check your medical exam request message below for details'. i filled another webform and the portal still displays the same and I got a feedback indicating they got the document and due to technical issue it might not reflect on the portal.
Please I would like to know if anyone had similar issue and how long before he/she got a feedback?.. it’s been 5weeks+ now after medical request and I’m to resume January.

I applied through them too. They also ignored my request for my login details when I was given admission. Just log in to the school student portal and use your email address (the one you registered with) and click on forgot password, a new password will be sent to your email. By the was, which school is it?
askarachi:
Please anyone familiar with ApplyBoard here I need help

An agent helped me to get admission via ApplyBoard but started asking for ridiculous money for visa application so I want to do it myself. They’re now refusing to release the updated LOA the school sent to ApplyBoard. Is anyone familiar with a way I can get the letter or the code for the letter myself?

I’ve mailed the school and they assured me they’ve sent it

I posted here earlier that the agent that did my vv visa wasn’t communicating with me, and didn’t give me access to my account. I also tried the application status tracker but it didn’t go through. It was after I submitted that I was able to view my vv visa application and saw that it was refused.

In my imm form, when asked if I applied before, I said yes. When asked if I was refused, I said no, that my application was still in progress, without me knowing that my application was refused.

On November 1st, I raised a million web forms updating IRCC and explaining that it was an oversight on my part, and indeed, my visitor visa application was refused. I raised more web forms on Monday

When I see things like these I wonder how an agent managed to convince me that I need 120million for Pof for just a single applicant just so I can pay some stupid interest.

It just annoys me afresh every morning 😡

I used 1 year for my UBA MBS
Spouse used 6 months (i think that's the max) for GTB MBS

I told them I have 94k CAD [liquid] as proof of funds just for this programme and I showed other assets in my name.
NOTE: I used N561.686/CAD 1

I also ensured I have more than the available funds stated in the SOP i.e. more than the 94k CAD.

Instead of 10k CAD for primary applicant, i used 14k CAD cos, that's what they stated in the admission letter. The insurance is also from the school, so I used info I got from the school to draft the table

I just even realize say i made a mistake for this table. [lolz]

International Business Uni. Actually it was an agent that helped me set everything up and when they started asking me for ridiculous amounts of money for the visa application I decided to stop working with them and they refused to give me the login details

I simply called the school and they gave me the letter

Thanks a lot. This helped
bullstriker:
Explain the situation to the school and ask for a copy of the LoA. Also, provide them your email so you can receive all their communication.

They will ask for your personal information to verify your identity

Hello everyone, I need information on how to apply for courier services for passport collection. My parents application got approved and my brother went to submit their passports, the lady in charge of collection that day wanted to collect 120k for courier which is not written on the website, my brother left the passport there and we have being tracking it, it is finally ready for collection according to the tracking ID . My brother was not given a passport submission receipt so he has no proof of submission except the tracking messages we have been getting. I want to know how to go about paying the N23,000 I saw on the website and how the can send it to my parents address, because I didn’t see a place to put in contact information, payment confirmation or delivery address after payment, I can only find account number on the website.

Hi,

Did anybody pay 22k to VFS for return of your passport after stamping? If yes, did they provide you with DHL tracking number to track your passport?

Hello everyone,
Please what’s the current process for passport submission. Does the applicant still pay for one way or two way to the courier. And which courier company is better?
Thanks.

I’ve really learned the hard way. The whole time the agent was using my funds to pay her own tuition. So painful

My agent is charging me 930 for Canadian dollar rate while it's showing 850 to 900 in the official aboki rate. He's insisting that buying cad with naira there in Canada is more expensive than the Nigerian market.(He's in Canada).
Is he being honest with me? The highest i can see CAD to naira in black market rate is 900 and he's insisting on 940 🥲
I can't back off right now he's going to want to intentionally withhold some of my important documents I'd be needing because he's the one who started everything from the admission to the initial school fees deposit for me.
This is just ruining my finances.
Please nairalanders how much are you guys paying for CAD?

I'm just so sad right now
