If Paserio wants to keep playing this formation then Nwakali is urgently needed. Collins was free most of the times but the midfielders just lack the precision needed to thread precise long balls. Osayi keeps passing backward instead of taking the ball to the line to cross.
Iheanacho would rather pass to the midfield than do a 1 2 ball with Osayi. The team has no leadership no urgency.

Awoniyi is the major culprit. A striker's body language is important in a match, his body language was just off. Just like against Tunisia at AFCON where he refused to press as he did in the first two games and was just strolling on the pitch.

Onyeka is not a natural DM. He runs from 1v1 tackles cos of his injury history. Play Onyedika as the DM (can pass, mark and shoot).
I watched South Africa and Benin today and those teams have nothing upfront!

This is a group we should be winning convincingly if the coach call up the right players.
We had almost 18 corners and just 2 of those corners we were able to hit on target! How? We have more than 5 six foot players.
Our corners should be synonymous to a penalty kick if the coach knows what he is doing!

Lookman schooled in Komekn football school yet can't kick ordinary corner kick. Pathetic
.
Don't raise your hope high tomorrow.

See bad 😞 belle analysis+ palm 🌴 wine 🍷 joint with no roof appraisal.

Ademola lookman scored 14 goals in Seria A last season already on 3 goals this season, player who is essentially a winger.

And you couldn't help 😉 yourself you brought in the personification of MEDIOCRITY, never do well Nwakali.

Look at the just concluded France match, forget the scoreline and focus on the gameplay, that's how football is supposed to look like. Something like that take decades to build and cannot be achieved by being corrupt.

If Passeiro abi Pisseiro fails to beat Zimbabwe on Sunday, he has TO BE FIRED ON THE SPOT, no too much grammar on that one, failure to do that then the NFF glasshouse should be vandalized and burnt down. Let FIFA ban us no wahala.

Going forward the overloading of strikers in our team at the expense of the midfield STOPS NOW. Ivory coast played a simple 433 with actual midfielders and the rest was history. The 424/442 madness ends now, with no Ndidi in that midfield it's madness asking Iwobi or the others to do the job a natural defensive midfielder should be doing. We don't need the likes of Moffi, Awoniyi, and Sadiq in the team, these players are more or less the same type of players. The front attack should only consist of Osimhen, Boniface, Gift Orban and Akor Adams (those last two because they actually have more ball playing skills and all round better goal scoring abilities than the likes of Awoniyi and Moffi).

Midfielders must always be at least 6-7 in number going forward, the invitation of only 4 midfielders stops now, we're not in the 90's when 442 was the order of football, now games are won or lost from the midfied!

Lastly players like Aribo should be phased out for good, he's in his late 20's now and has badly regressed, can't even get minutes in the freaking championship for goodness sake. The likes of Ifeanyi Matthew, Alhassan Yusuf, Folorunsho, Igoh Ogbu, Jordan Torunarigha and any of the fringe players who are having good seasons across Europe have to be called up now. That defence needs to be shored up cause Bassey just doesn't cut it for me.
100% On point bro.

Imagine a bench warmer far away in a back water league in Cyprus being a super Eagles first choice. A big insult to the team I must say.

Peseiro is nothing more than a fraud

There are more factors than a player not having a big break in football. We need a midfielder that understands the art of pressing spaces. We need one who understands how to watch runners jn the team. We need a midfielder that understands positional play. We need one who reads passes of his opposition players. We need one well versed in using long balls to unlock compact setup.

All you keep talking is club progress. You hardly make tactical suggestions of how to improve our team.

As far as I am concerned, Kelechi Nwakali is a must and the earlier we work towards getting him into the squad, the better for us.

Switching play is becoming critical in tactical repertoire and it will just not happen overnight. We need to build on it.

We have loads of good forward players and we need a midfielder that will supply them the arsenal.

Always about what the player brings and not whether he earns in naira or dollars. Quality and attributes first before anything else.

Isn't that what we analyse? Or is it the money we analyse? Komekn forever deliberately misses the point.

Well said TheGoodJoe 🙌🏽💥

Ultimately getting a local coach is part of the path to Nigeria's football success but why the NFF and SE fans believe Nigerian coach and competence are two parallel lines is what I will never understand.

In all my years as a fan, I was never enamored by local coaches but after Rohr, I saw that this foreign coaches have not really scaled the bar of performance over and beyond what our own local coaches can do.

What we are crying for is Kelechi Nwakali's natural quality. His attributes. How he sees and plays football. Telling us that he is not climbing the success ladder in his career or gets dropped shows you are devoid of the tactical view.

You attack the player but never attack the problem.

We need a natural passer in our midfield. A player built to play the mnemonic short passing game and well versed in the diagonal long ball play.

I have said my own.
Komekn's point is simple. If we have 22 players and it's not clicking for us, and you guys keep advocating for Nwakali, then he must be special - even though you may want to be sleek and disavow this but that's the implication of what you guys are saying.

If he's all that why is he where he is - and consistently oo? Quality like cream rises to the top. Komekn is right to examine his club history and use that to undercut this wonderful picture you all paint.
I do not believe Nwakali can significantly improve our team the way you guys portray. Not suggesting an alternative does not by itself make your suggestion of Nwakali a worthy idea.

same here mate. We have enough midfielders just that jpes is a stubborn goat

Playing style or not Nwakali won’t add anything magical to our already existing midfield

It will be difficult to find a top African team that can boast of the type of midfielders we hv currently

Imagine having midfielders like

Ndidi
Onyeka
Iwobi
Onyedika
Ifeanyi Mathew
Alhassan
Fisayo
Folorunsho

And someone is trying to convince me that nwakali is the missing puzzle? He should do that in his relegation threatened club in Portugal to keep them afloat for next season

A useless coach who hv tried accommodating 2-3 strikers with a lean midfield and it haven’t worked but he is still insisting on the same formation, Isn’t that total madness?

A country like England hv kane and in form Watkins but will never start both at the same time. Football of this era is won in the middle of the pitch not by deploying 6 attackers. The midfield is the engine/brain box of a team. Few teams that aren’t blessed with technical and creative midfielders play the ones they hv to their best potentials and abilities. We must not hv iniesta, xavi and zidane kinda midfielders to win the World Cup or even the afcon. Morocco made it to the semis without such midfielders, Senegal and ghana made it to the quarterfinals without such midfielders

All we need is a sound tactician who knows how well to utilize the players we have. This debate of the lack of technical and creative midfielders is becoming very boring

The players could not hold the pitch responsible this time around.

If you noticed in the game against Lesotho iwobi and Onyeka over laboured themselves. Even it got to a point the fool the nff employed as a coach deployed a more creative iwobi deeper and pushed a more defensive Onyeka forward 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

To me Lesotho gave us a lot of respect because if they pushed harder they would hv won that game. The mistake they though I won’t blame them was trying to defend their 1 goal lead by having more bodies behind the ball. If they were courageous enough they would hv scored more after having the advantage of scoring first

Football is not like that! There are club players and there are National team players and there are both! Nwakali is also a freekick specialist and doesn't need to shake like Iwobi before picking a pass.
Also he is press resistant unlike Iwobi!

if you watched the game against Lesotho you will notice that when ever the team is with the ball especially in midfield Onyeka and iwobi lack numbers to pass to, either they go sideways or the pass back. The front 4 were always pushing further the pitch and they were easily close marked by the opponents back 4 including their DM making it 5 against 4

If we had more bodies in the midfield then the midfielders could easily draw the opponents out by passing the ball around and by doing so will destabilize the opponents low defensive block creating channels for our two wingers and striker to run into. Even having more bodies in midfield will afford our fullbacks to bomb forward confidently when the need arise

He's been invited before. How did that pan out? Free kick specialist? How many has he scored at his club he regularly plays for?

On club versus national team football I know all too well that that distinction manifests itself in the performance of many players but what i have seen over the years is that oftentimes a top quality player in his club performs below par for the national team but I have never seen where a low grade player switches and becomes the formula that makes the national team work. If you know of any such instances please mention them (and abeg don't mention Sunday Mba because as at then Mba was more of an upcoming player (not low grade) who was expected to do great things but even he, faded away)

Nwakali is a low grade player. He's been low grade for many years.
