REASONS WHY WE SHOULD CONTINUE IN 4-4-2 TACTICAL SETUP

1. To have more men in the finishing phase of attack. The paucity of bodies in the finishing phases of our attack was one of the problems Gernot Rohr faced that opted the switch to 4-4-2. With two strikers occupying the opposition CB's, the inverted wingers seeking to cut in to shoot and the presence of overlapping fullbacks produces more body in attack, and in many instances of it can create an overload in the finishing phases of attack.

2. 4-4-2 tactical formation is very dynamic The buildup to finishing (goalscoring) is shorter in 4-4-2.Teams that opt to go with a lean midfield, teams going into the game as the underdog can decide on a 4-4-2 for a quicker route to goalscoring while retaining a good defensive shape, that is without compromising on defense. Ekong's and Omeruo's longballs to Moses Simon during the last AFCON tourney is a good example.
This feature of 4-4-2 does not mean that teams seeking for good buildup prior to goalscoring cannot utilize it, it however presents a dynamic feature of 4-4-2 and possible adaptations.

3. It is easier to maintain a defensive shape using 4-4-2. Teams coming into a game to defend more, teams with shaky defense, may decide on a 4-4-2 with play patterns that may intend to conserve the midfield etc

4. It appears we have trained and rehearsed more using 4-4-2 In the game against Mozambique, our cohesion and communication improved when we switched tactical formation to 4-4-2.

I have never been in support of 4-4-2 for the S.E, that's the reason i wanted to apologize for the post that will give validity to it.

Seems NFF have given Jpes a stern warning to beat Zimbabwe or get sacked. Osasu Obayuwana claims Jpes is planning on returning back to Zamalek, Egypt if he is eventually sacked
they shouldn’t wait for him to win or lose against Zimbabwe. They should do the needful and sack him

Any of finidi or amuneke should serve as interim coach to take the team to the afcon

We missed Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Osimhen, I will keep harping how important those are to how we play until we get their replacements.

Moreso we miss Kelechi Nwakali.

Kelechi Nwakali, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, are are keys to how we play in whatever phase of play we may find ourselves

In my ideal lineup, from the left wing to the midfield to the right wing:
Chidera Ejuke - Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Nwakali, Alex Iwobi.

If you need ndidi or osimehn to defeat Lesotho then do you really deserve to attend the World Cup? Enough is enough. If our team cannot comfortably defeats teams that are ranked 80+ below them, then qualifying for the World Cup shouldn’t occur

How did your come to that conclusion 🧐 objective based appraisal by comparison or prejudice.

In actual no one player was outstanding against Lesotho. But the players you are making comparison with just don't cut it for me, they are not outstanding or an improvement in comparison to Aribo.

Ifeanyi s midfielder plays in the Swiss Superleague it's rated below the Scottish and Turkish league. He has played 14 games and scored one goal 🥅 this season , what's so special. ❓ Is he better than Aribo, would he even get into the Southampton team ,have my doubts. Weekly salaries of Zurich is on par with Portsmouth in EFL League One.

The same goes more or less for Alhassan Yusuf, he is almost anonymous on the Eridivise. Before Arsenal and other top clubs went for the young Arthur Vermeeren , was Alhassan Yusuf invisible.🥺 I don't think he would get into Southampton.

Ogbu is a defender stuck in the obscurity of Czech league and other low level league for almost a decade.
Then you mention another defender Jordan Torunarigha , who left is anonymous🙈 career in the much higher Bundesliga to find solace in the lower Belgium league that's not a sign of quality 🤔.

None of these players you mentioned alongside Aribo are making waves. They are earning peanuts 🥜 because they are poor quality players, none of them earn anywhere what Aribo earns.

I am not saying Aribo is Messi, I don't think he is exceptional but the players you mentioned are not better than him.

With regards to the Championship, you think it's so low. Yet, KC is not even in the top 12 goal scorers in the league.

Don't mention Awoniyi and Moffi in the same sentence as Sadiq that's an insult. They are not 🚫 comparable in any way. With regards to Gift Orban and Akor Adams , it's speculative to suggest they are better.

Finally, Aribo is actually 27 but if he was born in Nigeria he would be 21., so forget that age comparison.

Nevertheless sir, in every case there’s an exception. Aribo an Alhassan what is dtheir work rate week in week out? I don’t want to follow d cliche of “ if you are gud you must play for d best.”

Sometimes circumstances can be funny.

Komekn's point is simple. If we have 22 players and it's not clicking for us, and you guys keep advocating for Nwakali, then he must be special - even though you may want to be sleek and disavow this but that's the implication of what you guys are saying.

If he's all that why is he where he is - and consistently oo? Quality like cream rises to the top. Komekn is right to examine his club history and use that to undercut this wonderful picture you all paint.
I do not believe Nwakali can significantly improve our team the way you guys portray. Not suggesting an alternative does not by itself make your suggestion of Nwakali a worthy idea.

The point is that Kelechi Nwakali has attributes others don't have in OUR TEAM.

Why is such a simple point so hard to pass.

You then jump to clubs would have gone for him. Are those clubs OUR TEAM? Are these clubs Super Eagles?

Looking back today and getting to understand how bright Ferguson's tactical view of the game was, Mikel really missed out not joining Manchester United. Either way he had a birgjt career but the world never got to witness a long run of his genius.

Until you meet a side that knows how to set.up a side to attack holes in the midfield and press with intensity. Then you will understand why two central midfielders can't work anymore.

Ademola lookman scored 14 goals in Seria A last season already on 3 goals this season, player who is essentially a winger.

And you couldn't help 😉 yourself you brought in the personification of MEDIOCRITY, never do well Nwakali.

Balderdash and Codswallop 😧😧
Club footie & National team footie are different ball games. Lookman has never really impressed me in GWG. You can prove me wrong with even 1 game.

So the SE is so radically different from the clubs he's played for? Emphasis on CLUBS.

Football is practical. Nwakali is so unique as a footballer that the only team where that uniqueness is needed is the SE? Is this not preposterous?

my problem with our local coaches is that they too like bribe and favoritism

Also they should get themselves busy by taking up jobs in the local league and African leagues/national teams. Their good work will make a statement/case for them

Keshi got his chance because of the good work he did with Togo 🇹🇬

Amunike went to Tanzania and Sudan. He flopped. Not against him oo but just stating the facts

I understand what he’s saying and I think he’s correct, none of our midfielders have Nwakali’s profile but that doesn’t mean Nwakali is the best at it, I see him as a poor man Jorginho

Keshi made the difference with Togo.

Emma Amuneke has not had it good except winning under 17 WC which can be classified as school football.

Sincerely am not expecting much from him when he coached Tanzania team but in Sudanese league I expected much but failed woefully.

Pls what is stoping him from NPFL cuz it seems he love doing it in another country, really surprised seeing him in Zambia where he was later sacked.

Getting Super eagles job should be for successful coach not for opportunists, just check out Keshi,he assisted Amodu before taking over Togo’s job and later Mali before super eagles job.

when you decide to do a job that means you’ve agreed to meet some certain standards, I’m sure nobody in Tanzania told him to go and win Afcon he qualified them for Afcon which I think was the target they gave him but I think he was fired for off field problems. I think he wasn’t just good enough in Sudan and Zambia

You seem to not understand that in football, the pressure leans more on the coaches than the players. His responsibility is to instill discipline, sort the team and/ or weed out unproductive players.

Most especially on the case in which he has everything (or almost) he needs to succeed. Which sadly is the case with Peseiro and Super eagles.

Was wondering as well why we were playing on Thursday with barely enough days to the train then traveling all the way to Rwanda. Anyway no excuses not to be beating the likes of Lesotho and Zimbabwe

What do you now say about Lesotho that played under the same condition and still got a result in our backyard?

No creative midfielders that can take on and dribble opponents 1 v 1 in the middle of the park to properly supply the forwards.
Why are we playing two center forwards instead of one.
I didn’t watch the game but the coach can pair Iheanacho with a CF in the centre up front rather than having two CF!s
Awoniyi and Boniface won’t work.
People say Orban Gift can beat players 1 v 1
We should mix the type of strikers we have. Not only the ones waiting for supplies
Dribblers and chance/space creators needed upfront
My brother thank you. I tire for this man and how he organizes his line ups is a bit worrisome.
Na wetin make us loose the last world cup in Eguavoens' hand. He carry Osimhen put, carry Ighalo put, who again?Carry Musa put. Who dey play 9? Who be false 9? Who be SS? There's no cohesion and players sometimes clash into each other.
Na this the same mistake this one carry come: Boniface is a CF, Awoniyi, a CF, Iheanacho (understandably a false CF). This kind of lineup can bring conflict of interest especially when we're in the final third. Why can't you invite some like Gift Urban to support up pairing up with a striker and having decent wingers on the flanks? Iwobi and Onyeka or Onyedika hold the midfield. Is there anything too hard to ask?

If Paserio wants to keep playing this formation then Nwakali is urgently needed. Collins was free most of the times but the midfielders just lack the precision needed to thread precise long balls. Osayi keeps passing backward instead of taking the ball to the line to cross.
Iheanacho would rather pass to the midfield than do a 1 2 ball with Osayi. The team has no leadership no urgency.

Awoniyi is the major culprit. A striker's body language is important in a match, his body language was just off. Just like against Tunisia at AFCON where he refused to press as he did in the first two games and was just strolling on the pitch.

Onyeka is not a natural DM. He runs from 1v1 tackles cos of his injury history. Play Onyedika as the DM (can pass, mark and shoot).
I watched South Africa and Benin today and those teams have nothing upfront!

This is a group we should be winning convincingly if the coach call up the right players.
We had almost 18 corners and just 2 of those corners we were able to hit on target! How? We have more than 5 six foot players.
Our corners should be synonymous to a penalty kick if the coach knows what he is doing!

Lookman schooled in Komekn football school yet can't kick ordinary corner kick. Pathetic.
Don't raise your hope high tomorrow.
Lookman is the most dissapointing among the FBs. I was expecting a new victor Moses and Simon as his deputy. But the guy just turned out to be a big disappointment.
