masquellett: Hey ! Your question is confusing. Is she going permanently ? Is she going for a visit ? Is she going for study ? Is she going for wedding ? Those circumstances will determine VO questions . For example if she is going for a wedding ceremony, the VO might ask ...Why going with your kids for a 1 week wedding ? If she is going for an MSc , the VO might ask , why going with your kids ? How will you take care of your kids during your studentship ? Circumstances determine question. Don't give up . 1 Like |

Hello My ppl, I need your help as I have issues paying my SEVIS fee, the comment on the DHS website says Citizens from Nigeria can not use debit card or Credit to pay but we have options like using Western Union Quick Pay. I checked with Western Union here in UAE, I was told that in the Middle East, Western Union can not make transfer to Business account or company only to personal account. I also downloaded the pay4me app, on the pay4me app there is no option for UAE in the resident location. Any other option cuz I do not have anyone in the US to help me make the payment. Thanks |

Sorry I didn’t include that in my earlier post. She is going for her MSC. She has enough money to cater for them but doesn’t want to leave them behind for other pressing family reasons. Thanks. NewBoyKhashoggi: |

Tkulthenoble: Hey ! Broaden your search for someone in the USA.. contact your friends and families and someone must know someone over there because USA is your best bet. Alternatively, send some of your close friends or a reliable family member to Cotonou (Republic of Benin) to pay it on your behalf ..it's even easier to pay in Cotonou than USA . Those are your 2 options I am foreseeing. There's God. Don't give up. 1 Like |

masquellett: Hey ! Going for an MSc with 2 teenagers seems like RELOCATION GIMMICK but if she plays her game well she will get the visa . 1. She has to proof to the VO that she has more than enough money as she is going to cater for both dependents ...that can be in the form of a fixed deposit account ...reliable source of money from Nigeria , husband funds from Nigeria etc while she is studying in the USA as an MSc student . 2. I will recommend that she look for a college for the kid that has finished high school right now and print out email correspondence from the college or University....THE VO espects both kids to enroll to school upon their arrival in the USA because they cannot work. 3. She should look for an appropriate high school for the one in Junior school and also print out email correspondence from the school . THE IDEA HERE IS TO SHOW THE VO THAT SHE HAS MADE EDUCATIONAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR BOTH KIDS BEFORE LEAVING NIGERIA . 4. She should tell the VO the dangers of leaving them behind ... perhaps they use to fall sick if they don't see her within 1 week....perhaps they can be easily manipulated into bad influence without the mother ....perhaps they are asthmatic and she is the only one that knows their medical needs ETC ..All those mentioned are some of the excuses that can beat the VOs. In all, she has to convince the VO beyond reasonable doubt that she has MORE THAN enough money for the upkeep and academics of both kids because the VO won't want the kids to become a dependency burden on American government. There is God ..Don't give up. 5 Likes |

Hey ! Yes why not ? Go ahead . But you will need the SEVIS fee payment receipt/slip to apply for emergency appointment if need be ...but right now go ahead and book your normal appointment and who knows you might have some luck and pick your desired date ...but in all you will still need to tender the SEVIS payment evidence @ the embassy . masquellett: Her second child is essentially leaving school here and planning to enter a public school in the US, where his parents have never paid tax. The first kid is already done with secondary school and is likely looking to start his undergrad. My hunch is that both the kids will be denied. 2 Likes |

TWoods: Hey ! No !! Public school in the US is not the same as dependency burden . Otherwise kindly define or tell us here the meaning of dependency burden ...waiting 95% of Africans or let's say international students attends Public Universities in the US because majority cannot afford private Universities..infact, the VOs does not expect you to apply to private Universities because they naturally thinks you cannot afford it...So tell us don't we pay for the school fees and other expenses at the public Universities in the US ? Back to the kids ...Nobody can sit down here and type the VO will automatically deny both kids visas ....it's s lie because no one here works as a VO or consular ..we are just giving advice based on past experiences and personal research. @ Masqullette There are many NGOs and Private organisations funded or supported high , elementary and middle schools in the United States (THEY SUPPORTS NEW ARRIVALS KIDS EDUCATIONAL ISSUES) . , Therefore, let your sister go ahead with her visa application . She is not the first person to go that route and she is not going to be the last .. She is not claiming refugee nor an asylum seeker , the VOs knows that if she is an outstanding student she might eventually become an instrument of knowledge for America by dolling out knowledge as a lecturer or by working which turns her to a tax payer too. LET HER GO AHEAD IF SHE HAS THE FINANCIAL CAPABILITY....THE VISA IS NOT 100% GUARANTEE BUT MANY PEOPLE HAVE DONE IT IN THE PAST ...SHE SHOULD BE DETERMINE AND DO HER ASSIGNMENT VERY WELL. There is God ..Don't give up. |

I wish to start my PhD application soonest. Pls... 1. when we talk of Cost of Attendance (COA) at a US university here, does it mean total for a four year program (PhD) or just per annum. 2. From Canadian thread, I c that even though IRCC says 1yr tuition and 1yr living expenses, visa officers seem to always deny those that can't show complete cost for entire length of program. Are US visa officers also interested in one showing funds for the entire length of program (which may reach almost a 100mill in my case) or they focus on 1yr? |
