There's no way a civil war won't break out if Nigeria is split into different countries along ethnic/regional lines within 5years or less as there's lot of bad blood even amongst ethnicities that are closely related. The only thing unifying ethnicities is the common enemy (apologies to Muri Ajaka), "Nigeria" so many contentious issues to deal with and so many warlords wielding influence to allow for a peaceful union. 1 Like |

This dude is hellbent on stoking a full-blown tribal war as reminiscent of what happens in the Politics Section on this thread even when those he's engaging are obviously restraining themselves not to go down that path. You are forcing ethnicities of certain tribes to admit they are of your stock even when they have repeatedly denied it and identified their sources. Comments like yours have started deadly clashes in Rivers State with the Ikwerres, and with other people like the Inis and Etim Ekpos even in recent years. Comments like yours are precautionary tales to others like the Yoruba when you try to refer to parts of their ancestral lands as "No man's land". We know those who built kingdoms and had organised societies for centuries before the whites arrived what is today Southern Nigeria. We know those who led the slave raids and those who were preyed upon. But for the sake of unity, some of us steer clear of opening that can of worms. You either let it go or watch your history be laid bare and your ancestors humiliated. 6 Likes |

BTW.......apparently hold your Governors accountable seems only applicable to Lagos State only? Same set of people that would ignore holding their Governors accountable and rather concentrate all energy on FG are now celebrating Doherty as next Disney hero?! Doherty is teaching how opposition should be done, I expect Lagos State Government to come up with clarifications as soon as possible. Kudos to Funsho Doherty. He is proving a worthy man for Lagos seat gradually. 2 Likes |

DissTroy: I've come to know Okpa as someone who doesn't care about learning in most discourse . He holds on to the opinion he has at the beginning of the discussion/argument till the end . It doesn't matter if his fellow diacussant is making sense or not . I've observed this over time . He can rehash the same talking point for days without making a shift in position even if u show him the damnest of evidences that puts his claim as incorrect . If false equivalence doesn't work out in his favor, then he will resort to whataboutism and conjectures here and there . Na when u tire u go leave am 2 Likes |

OasisX: Just finish reading the full document. That was proper expose and diligent work from Mr Doherty. Theres no way LASG are going to spin this, majority of the expenses in the budget are ridiculous and borderline annoying asf. Asking the state ministry of justice to pay for his own personal legal fee is an impeachable offense. A total abuse of office. Funsho Doherty should continue to hold them by the jugular. Full transparency and accountability is the way forward.. Kudos to Funsho Doherty. 1 Like |

Realmrsean: According to John Adams (a European explorer/scholar)in 1823, the Creek or Jo people are "a predatory race who frequently attacked boats bound to Gatto. They're teeth filling cannibals who lived almost entirely on boat, attacking her neighbours". These guys were not civilized, no wonder Google named her international subsea cable linking Europe & Africa after an Igboman called "Ulaudah Equiano" though the jo people are the original pirates who can protect the cable. Na dem dey secure our oil pipelines in Niger Delta..no b say na dem be d only tribe in d coastal area..but dey are pirates historically & always high on sapele water. na thief dem dey use catch thief. 2 Likes |

larride: ......you're right, it can't be spinned cos I don't really see how. Gawat and co have been sweating, thinking of how they can spin it since yesterday but nothing yet has come out. Doherty ain't here to play and I won't be surprised if PDP is looking at his direction already. Lagos need a formidable opposition to keep it on her toes, not the likes of Gbadebo and Jendor who are just kidding around. |

BlueRayDick: It just gives you an idea of how pitiable our documented history is and the amount of work that needs to be done in terms of archaeological research in Nigeria. All these claims and counterclaims are about things that happened 200-1000 years ago. Not that long ago in the grand scheme of things. |

The expose by Doherty no be today jare . We've always known the criminality that goes into appropriation ( misappropriation if u like) of funds in Lagos State . U don't need a soothsayer to tell u that's how it's always been . U just need to take a look at the development on ground vs the money Lagos State makes ..... You will see the gap right there . Anybody that followed the Alpha-Beta case will not be surprised one bit by this expose . Whether the current APC administration in Lagos successfully spins the story or not , the people will still find a season to vote another APC goveenor come 2027. We never ready at all 7 Likes 2 Shares |

The discussion about Opobo remind about the claim of Igalas being the owners of Ajaokuta because they were allowed to settle there down to Ganaja. It got so bad that a traditional ruler installed was removed by the locals in a community known as Ohunene which they renamed as Ofunene, this is why some people are hesitant to allow large inflow of people to their territory so that they won't come and rewrite their history tomorrow We should learn to be accommodating as well as being respectful of our hosts, don't claim what ain't your and don't be meddlesome else you may trigger the dark side of your host which sometimes may not be justified 1 Like |

That bias is something that makes everybody have their own version of the story and then hope foreigners believe our own version of the story above other people's |

When una talk finish, u relocate to Opobo & force them to change their mother tongue. Simi is speaking his native language. Nobody forced it on him, not Obi of Onitsha or Sultan of Sokoto. Yes, he's not playing politics cox i.e the language they speak in Opobo. If u like chant sit @ home till infinity, the historical feat of Ama Pepple, King Jaja, Olaudah Equiano, Oko Jumbo are well documented & none of your ogogoro drunkards & pirates can lace their shoes. 2 Likes |
