Still don't understand the rational behind the clamour for Amunike to lead the super eagles

This is a man that the only trophy he has achieved ever since he starts to coach teams is winning the under 17 cadet cup. The next year he could not qualify the team for AFCON under 20 tournament. Even Manu Garba achieved better winning the AFRICA and WORLD under 17 cups and also won the AYC under 20 cup only fail at the under 20 world cup afterwards.

Amunike led the Tanzania national team and manage to qualify for the afcon because of the extended format of 32 teams and in the tournament proper his team leak in goals and got beaten like gang of thieves.

He managed a team in Egypt to no success.

He is just a loud mouth like Oliseh and will be another Oliseh if called to manage the super eagles.

So many of our ex internationals lack the capacity to manage a standard teams. You see the likes of Equaevon, Amunike, Amokachi etc all rovering round the super eagles job always been recycled while their mates are in abroad managing teams and gaining experience or serving as back room staffs to renowned coaches this ones are here doing AWOLOKAN with the super eagles

Sacking Pasiero should led us to recruiting a sound Dutch coach to be charged with the responsibility to recruit Nigeria players are all over the world and assemble best team to play for the super eagles

The NFF technical committee should be disbanded qnd a new committee should be set up and manage by Oliseh. Alot of retired ex internationals like Yobo, Musa and the likes of Balogun etc should be encouraged to go into coaching roles at the international scene

Nothing really bad in having a foreign coach just that PINNICK ruin our football just to promote his political career by appointment of Pasiero

Mujtahida:

So the SE is so radically different from the clubs he's played for? Emphasis on CLUBS.

Football is practical. Nwakali is so unique as a footballer that the only team where that uniqueness is needed is the SE? Is this not preposterous?

I can bet most quality clubs have decent deep lying playmakers. The Super Eagles do not have a decent one we are fielding. So talking clubs and career is missing the point.

Just the same echo. Get it now. We are not getting any quality foreign coach. They are all engaged with jobs in Europe. Our only bet of getting sound coaching is the best amongst the pack we have here.

The NFF does not pay well or in time, and also meddle on lots of affairs that do not concern them.

Amunike's U20 team did not lose a match in over 50 games. They only lost a game which has to do with local sabotage.

There are many factors that can affect club growth but we can't deny that he is sound tactically.

Keep with the decent with getting foreign coaches and we will keep entertaining journey men.

The Thursday performance was disheartening and the interview was even more insulting. I support the sacking of the clueless manager but we can’t keep recycling old names here. I don’t support appointing Amunike or any of the NPFL coaches.

We need young, fresh, vibrant coach who is familiar with modern footballing tactics and ideologies.

There are lots of under 45 coachesin Europe who are hungry and willing to prove themselves and will deliver with the team. If we want to advance our football we cannot keep calling guys like Amunike or clueless journeymen like Peseiro and Rohr

Very predictable coach .. it is still the same 4-2-4 he would play today...
To be honest, the odds aren't too in our favour today... First, the pitch is quite bad and not suitable for our players, second, the kickoff time (3pm Rwanda time) isn't very convenient for our players, and third, Zimbabwe play like a typical Southern African team ..they run a lot... With a lean midfield, I dear that Iwobi and whoever partners him today will gas out quickly... We are in for a long afternoon...

I hope we win

My brother thank you. I tire for this man and how he organizes his line ups is a bit worrisome.
Na wetin make us loose the last world cup in Eguavoens' hand. He carry Osimhen put, carry Ighalo put, who again?Carry Musa put. Who dey play 9? Who be false 9? Who be SS? There's no cohesion and players sometimes clash into each other.
Na this the same mistake this one carry come: Boniface is a CF, Awoniyi, a CF, Iheanacho (understandably a false CF). This kind of lineup can bring conflict of interest especially when we're in the final third. Why can't you invite some like Gift Urban to support up pairing up with a striker and having decent wingers on the flanks? Iwobi and Onyeka or Onyedika hold the midfield. Is there anything too hard to ask?
Ejuke although selfish can be invited
He’s got pace & can dribble
The keyword you highlighted : no cohesion
Hopefully they get things right before the nations cup

Any move for a local coach will hinder our further recruitment of European born players. These egunje loving coaches will rather flood the national team with players from the local scene and obscure leagues

The nff should employ one on interim basis for the afcon then take there time afterwards to scout for a decent European coach to handle the team

This set up cannot fly, the team will be so unbalanced. Who will mark the ball? Who will assist? All of them will like to score. This is Peseiro's kind of set up. Five forwards means chaos, especially when your defenders are average.

Seems NFF have given Jpes a stern warning to beat Zimbabwe or get sacked. Osasu Obayuwana claims Jpes is planning on returning back to Zamalek, Egypt if he is eventually sacked

This isn't correct. Like I mentioned earlier here, JP signed a short term contract that expires after AFCON. The renewal of his contract or otherwise is consequent on him meeting well spelled out KPIs. So there was no warning, he's only covering his bases should he need another job by January.

Lol, "a poor man's Jorginho".
The Super Eagles are in need of a poor man's Jorginho who would help in ball distribution and retention, play those boring passes that help in calming the tempo of a match.

jihday:
I understand what he’s saying and I think he’s correct, none of our midfielders have Nwakali’s profile but that doesn’t mean Nwakali is the best at it, I see him as a poor man Jorginho

I don't know the full details of his contract, but this is plausible cause they'll only need to pay him the remainder of his contract which is till January.

We missed Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Osimhen, I will keep harping how important those are to how we play until we get their replacements.

Moreso we miss Kelechi Nwakali.

Kelechi Nwakali, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, are are keys to how we play in whatever phase of play we may find ourselves

In my ideal lineup, from the left wing to the midfield to the right wing:
Chidera Ejuke - Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Nwakali, Alex Iwobi.
We missed everybody including those that played. That's why the match ended 1 apiece

The point is that Kelechi Nwakali has attributes others don't have in OUR TEAM.

Why is such a simple point so hard to pass.

You then jump to clubs would have gone for him. Are those clubs OUR TEAM? Are these clubs Super Eagles?

It's hard for them to understand because they base their stance on "we don't like Nwakali" and not on any sound footballing analytical grounds.

Kelechi Nwakali is a MF who reads a game intelligently and can dictate a team's tempo with his passing and possession recycling. His ability to also switch plays quickly on the turn from highly marked areas to less marked zones on the pitch is a weapon that will serve our wingers and Fullbacks and put them easily in 1v1 situations instead of having them doubled up on.

A MF profile who's highly press resistant, set pieces savvy, can manipulate and carry the ball vertically and calm and speed up plays at will.

He can also tread lines-breaking passes from anywhere on the pitch be it as a 6 or as an 8 (from deep or in advanced roles respectively). These and more are his attributes and to be super honest, we have no such MF profile in the Super Eagles to the level of the execution Nwakali shows.

It is not an indictment on the other MFs we have. It is rather a pointer to the fact that Nwakali is needed in tandem with what the team has in the middle.

If only some can put aside their hate for the lad and truly see what he brings to the team, the discussion will flow more along pure analytical routes and not "about whether Madrid signed him or if he is earning 1 million dollars per week". Such talk is distracting and deviates totally from the true point of focus which is whether the player has the attributes our midfield truly needs.

It's been 4 years since Mikel obi left the Super Eagles and we haven't had a midfield profile close enough in talent/attribute profiling to what Mikel offered us. Nwakali is the vloosest bet among our midfield options in Europe today. Not that he is on Mikel's level... no but profile wise, they are nearly the same.

We are talking improving the Super Eagles and others are ranting because they don't like the players we recommend from sound analytical perspectives.

Ask them now to throw in their thoughts and they would somehow include Frank Onyeka, a positionally poor midfielder in their starting XI as a DM citing his "workrate" alone. Smh.

Peseiro and the NFF may be the problem but some of us in here will do no better based on our unsound takes.
