That is the sample.

NPC is the only body authorized by law in Nigeria to issue both birth and death certificates.

They have an office around Babs Animashaun in Surulere Lagos.

What you have is called a registration of birth and when presented to NPC, they will issue a birth certificate .

ooOO... Sky, which kind wahala be this now? undecided.
So now I'll need to go and do the proper birth certificate again?.

Is that what you have?

Yes.

I did mine about 14years ago.

That is the only documents recognized as birth certificate by Nigerian law.

I had lost my original record of birth from the hospital so, my parents swore an affidavit of birth with their pictures and signatures and, I took to NPC office where I obtained the official birth certificate.

Hm... Thats a journey I don't think I'm ready for now but so far this is what I've been using and it has never been rejected.

Ok thanks for the heads up.

You are welcome.

What you have is usually acceptable within Nigeria but if you plan to travel out, they will need the official copy from NPC. I did mine when I was about to leave the country about 14 years ago. if you have a little bit of time, you may just get it done to get it out of the way, who knows, you may need it tomorrow.

How many even have birth certificate? I mean original, not forged. This tiny paper right here was given to my lovely parents in the 80s and handed down to me 28 years later and still intact. I Sabi keep things o.

As for the trolls age-shaming me. You can't shame the shameless and for those claiming I'm up to 46, here you go. Feed your eyes and know where and how to direct your dumb claims.
I am proudly 42. If you're not ashamed of your age/ life, drop yours.
If you don't have a skeleton in your cupboard, drop yours here.

Only someone with a shady lifestyle will be hiding everything about themselves.

Those i'm talking to know themselves.

Sad mortals
That's priceless. Keep the registration of birth document well and make more photocopies of it for safe keeping. I detest the falsification or reduction of ages which a significant number of folks back in Nigeria seem to engage in for whatever reason with impunity.

Ow... Nigerians especially ladies can falsify their age for so many reasons. Some do it to deceive a man to marry to them. Some do it to get a job while others do it to get certain position of office. It's just too much.

Me I can't hide mine cos I believe what will be will be. I don't have to lie to get anything.

Indeed @Jewessgratitud3. You know what?
That's one major reason why I like you... You keep it real in your posts! There are four of you ladies that I know here on NL who are single in your late 30s, and early to mid-forties, and you all don't hide your ages. I have more trust in women who convey positive vibes in their convos and say it as it is.

I was on an NL thread just recently where a female celeb had her supposed 39th birthday but the thread OP indicated 38 years, while a U.S.-based female NL member who's in her early 40s told me this female celeb has a younger sister who is actually 39 years old. She also insisted that the celeb was her senior in highschool back in Nigeria and could not be less than 41 years which is her own real age.

I didn't push the convo further knowing full well [based on my gut instincts] that she was right being also a popular long-time female member of NL.

TBH, if I had a lover or potential lover who has tweaked her age just to conform with some silly social standards, I'll ditch her "faster than a speeding bullet" because it's not sexy cool and it comes back to embarrassingly haunt them when they are found out. That's leading a fake life.

Last but not least... How did you coin the moniker "Jewessgratitude3" that you use now? What does it truly mean or say about you?

Ciao! wink
