The issue with Nigeria is skill and strategy .
They are all average . I mean - Who on the team is a marque name on their team. Besides the dude that scores goals how does he get the ball if he isn’t given to him.
Nigeria and Poland are like 5/6. Don’t rely on individual skills but play as a team . That’s what made 1994 great.

Why is sport and Siper Eagle better under the military regime?

Because under military you can’t just chop money anyhow, or be messing up because you think nobody can touch you. If this was military rule the entire NFF could just be raided one day and everyone arrested and forced to explain their actions and any missing money.

Sometimes I miss people like Abacha in this country.

This our political system makes the president too weak. He has no power to do anything.

I can't just believe a coach has not been paid and running to months, yet as football fans we expect result. It is beyond comprehension. I can't imagine being owed a month salary. It is selfishness to expect great results from them. The NFF must do the needful and we will see the results. People that require to be sacked are Exco members of the NFF.

We’re not happy, no money to sack Peseiro – NFF speaks on 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe

A board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Nse Essien, has said they would have sacked head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, if they could afford it.

Essien made this claim in an interview with OJB Sports following their 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.

The result means Peseiro’s men have taken only two points from a possible six, as they also drew 1-1 with Lesotho three days prior.

The performances have led to football fans calling on the NFF to fire Peseiro.

But Essien has explained why it would not be a straightforward decision.

He said: “The Sports Ministry who employed him were supposed to pay for their salaries. But up till now, nothing has been paid.

“If we sack the coaches now, who will pay compensation?

“Not a dime has been paid yet to this coach who earns about $70,000 a month.

“We have to respect Jose Peseiro’s contract.

“If we had the money to give to him (pay him off) we are going to relieve him. We are not happy.”

When you were hiring him we warned you but you didn't listen, when he contracts elapsed, you could ha e let him go in peace; instead you opted to re employ him. We warn u again but you were adamant. You went ahead and renew his contract: giving him a clause of reaching Semi final of AFCON.
Question: Does this man look like a coach that can cross group stage?
I hate to say this but Nigeria will NOT qualify for 2026 World cup. Let's hope for 2030.

Imagine how much this man is paid per month.
If NFF and Nigeria want to be serious with the economy, no foreign coach should be paid in dollar, but in Naira.
Which Nigeria coach won't accept 10million monthly salary? Excluding tips players

Read the quote statement above from the Board Member of the NFF and tell me if you think anything good will come out from this corrupt administration. grin

The Sports sector which is the only thing that gives the common man a little bragging rights is coming out to tell us how corrupt they're and how we can do nothing about it.

Employing someone and not paying him as at when due, do you expect him to perform signs and wonders with the eagles?

You and I know the gluttons eating the salary.... Amaju Pinnick is gone, Oya, blame me. grin

If he has not been paid since being employed, he would have resigned. Or does he not have bills to pay?

This shows that even without being paid the bribes and lobbying money he gets to feature amd invite players are enough for him to not think of resignation as the SE coach

Corruption there is something else, and governments cannot interven due to FIfA rules

cool This lackluster-inexperienced Peseiro just came to use Nigeria to build his CV.

And it serves us right! We the people of Nigeria don't value our own.

And most importantly, the NFF is the real problem.
Exactly on point. In fact, it's NFF that is the problem here. They're paying a use-less coach $70k dollars per month 'cus the man gives them their own cut every month. Nff is just a scam.
Re: We’re Not Happy, No Money To Sack Peseiro – NFF Speaks On 1-1 Draw With Zimbabwe by OffAir(m): 8:00pm On Nov 20, 2023
I totally agree with you . I would advise the NFF to hire Emmanuel Amuneke and stick with him Win or Bust just as Senegal has done with Aliou Cisse..
GanagiBitrus:
Must we hire Oyibo coach? Especially when we can hardly afford his salaries.
Imagine $70k monthly salary (N84million per month). Why must you carry a load that is too heavy for you to bear?

Look at Senegal Coach, Aliou Cisse. He has been doing well.
We need to encourage & support one of our ex-internationals for the job.

Anyway the only way forward is to sack him. But I fear the problem of S/Eagles is beyond Coach.

is your local coaches doing well? Olympic we no go under17 worldcup we no go, caf champions league we no go last worldcup we no qualifier, super league they just played our club enyimba was rated last position. All these teams are coach by local coach, let me remind you back to back nation cup 2015 and 2017 we didn't qualify these local coaches were in charge. If after seeing this you still screaming Local coaches then u need brain check. U are screaming Senegal have u check who is cisse assistant a foreigner have u check who is their physio a foreigner, have u check who is their Goalkeeper trainer a foreigner. If u like call me white man slave na u sabi. If Nigeria league have like 5 foreign coaches in it u will see improvement in the league and go far in caf champions league. Pisto of south Africa won't be a bad idea for Nigeria national team

If Nigerias local coaches aren't doing well, how does that justify paying $70,000 to a foreign coach who isn't also doing well?

There’s a reason why
CR7 son will never get to his level in football
George Weah’s spn will never get to his level in football
A Sadio mané
A Mo Salah
Especially in Africa
Reason why Francis Ngannou will always beat a Tyson Fury
The hunger & desire to prove themselves, if we were going to score I knew it would probably come from Iheanacho
He’s tested and proven for years
Osimhen too
I believe some of our players get invited on sentiments basis.
This needs to change.
I listened to Sunday mba’s radio interview some months ago. He said that if the eagles invited aren’t willing to give 100% on the pitch for Nigeria they should fake injury and not bother coming, he said it would be much better than disappointing us. He said that’s one of the reason super eagles aren’t playing well. Commitment level or possibly standards dropped
