Zahra29: Poverty actually breeds greed as a result of scarcity mentality or mindset. It works together. Of course that’s why some spend 1billion on food in govt house. Like someone said earlier the same person will go to African store and spend like mad. |

Hi all, please advise best way forward: A lady changed her Nigerian passport from maiden to husbands surname. Now she wishes to travel to Nigeria within a few days. Brp is in her maiden name. BRP replacement takes 3 to 8 weeks. Can she travel out of UK with the following : Old/new passports BRP with maiden name Marriage certificate, newspaper clippings of change of name etc.? Any risk with the above approach? New Naija passport just came, so no time to apply for BRP replacement since. Please advise. Thanks guys 🙏🏾 |

Good morning everyone, please I want to know if I will be asked for proof of address when applying for my husband's dependent visa. I have been in the UK for five months under the healthcare visa but I live in a different city from where my employer is. Should I use the address I used during my application which is my employer's address for him? Please help me if you have done this before. |

No you won't be asked to present a proof of address. Yes you can use the same address used during your initial application. Note that once you get your own address, you are meant to update UKVI with that new address. broglie: |

My People, I applied for a provisional license, but failed to do a return label for my brp card It has been over three months, and I have not received my Brp card. I am considering applying for a new one, and I've paid £19 for a standard application and I was directed to a new third-party link that is requesting £245 to book an appointment. This seems like a rip-off, and I'm feeling frustrated. Can anyone provide guidance on this process? everything is also looking like i am applying for a fresh Visa. |

triplo3:She can travel. She needs to be with old passport showing the entry clearance name and marriage certificate when returning. At the border she can also explain that she would put in a replacement BRP application. There’s no harm. On the website it says you should try to do the replacement within 3 months of the change. I know someone who did it later at 4 or 5 months and cited financial difficulties. 2 Likes |

giselle237: Thank you. Can she apply for a replacement now? Or better to apply when she returns in a 2 months time? Since it’s for name change, rather than lost or stolen |

Guys, I need your help. My car was seized yesterday by police here in the UK for driving unaccompanied with a provisional license. Where and how do I get impound lnsurance for provisional drivers license?? 1 Like |

The reason car was seized was because of your Provisional L and you wan look for who go insure you with PL. No go work ọ You have to get an impound insurance and someone who's held a licence for more than three years to collect the car for you. segunzolawalez: 1 Like |

segunzolawalez: You could try to get temporary impound/compound release insurance. Search via e.g. confused.com or compare the market, filter and shortlist based on your requirements and contact the companies directly: https://temporaryinsurance.confused.com/?referrer=confused On a side note - why were you driving on your provisional? You must have been aware of the rules or did you think it was all just scaremongering ? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Thank you. I will try this one. I was told by Lloyds bank to be careful. I sent £395 to one company this morning by bank transfer. Lloyds blocked the payment and my app, and asked me to call. They said payment for insurance must be by card. I was advised to not proceed with the deal. So I am being careful now. I don't want to be a victim of fraud. Zahra29: |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Zahra29: 6:14pm On Nov 21, 2023 |
segunzolawalez: I should have caveated by saying that I do not know the company personally, nor have I used them before, so I can't vouch for them. But to check if a company is legit, look up their profile and reviews on trustpilot before making any payments to them.. I always do this when dealing with a lesser known company for the first time. 1 Like 2 Shares |
