Why can't they replicate it in mere 5 ports

Won't it be cheaper than shipping lines?
You mixing up two unrelated issues. Pharmaceutical tests is purely a regulatory policy while the shipping line is a PPP initiative, thus the makes market more efficient and competitive.

This bloody socialist government has no business in runing a business

Have you met with importers and exporters? Did they tell you lack of a shipping line is their priority? Or you just assumed

Things local businesses complained about you haven't looked at them

1) make all ports equal where you can import and export anything from any port.... There is no reason pharmaceutical and chemicals must come through apapa

So if I build my pharmaceutical company in port Harcourt I must use apapa to import raw materials I can't use onne in the same city

2) cost of export... According to AFDB PRESIDENT it cost $35k to export 100 tons from Nigeria and $4000 to export same from Ghana

Look into this

Is lack. Of ships a problem? .
But our refineries will hardly operate profitably without the NNSL..
in fact southern refineries depend heavily on it

The ass is being drop off as we speak, 6 month with no significant improvement na so we waste 8 years waiting on Buhari to do miracle.

As supporter of Tinubu he will not enjoy such support after a year with no tangible improvement in the economy security n power of Nigeria, he should gladly resign back to his house and let someone else try.

If you think you can shout me down, you need to try again. Even obidient with their noise couldn't deter my support for him talk more of a nonentity like you.

Regional autonomy is a big ask, for now, performance will shut up the naysayers. i strongly believe the President will back it up.

Incremental and diplomatic introduction of regional autonomy bro. Not severe and abrupt. It can and will work.

I think most forget Tinubu, as campaign promise, stated boldly, to put everyone on notice, he would introduce regional commissions to help every region of Nigeria maximize their unique endowment and assets for greater and more rapid success.

Tinubu can certainly focus on performance in the immediate term but sustainable and accelerated growth for Nigeria can only be secured under regional autonomy.

Regional autonomy as I see it, and as Tinubu makes clear he sees it also, does not mean fighting others. It means more freedom for regions to have autonomy over how they tackle their unique challenges that “one Nigeria” solutions cannot solve.

With that in mind, elements of it can be introduced alongside Tinubu’s national performance drive.

For example, we now have so many vigilante groups and supplementary forces to the police (Amotekun, Hisba police etal).

Why not sell the idea of converging them
Under regional policing for optimal efficiency? Eight years will quickly come and go.

If Tinubu does not act, as early as possible, his tenure will be at an end and Nigeria will still not be restructured and our perennial problems will endure because an unrestructured Nigeria will remain an unworkable Nigeria.

Reviving Nigeria's National Shipping Line: Paving the Way for Economic Transformation

Author: Abdullahi Musa Yaro

The proposed revival of Nigeria's National Shipping Line under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu showcases the government's commitment to revitalizing the nation's maritime industry. This ambitious plan holds the potential to bring about a transformative impact on Nigeria's economy, facilitating international trade, job creation, and positioning the country as a prominent player in the global maritime arena. While the revival of the National Shipping Line presents exciting prospects, it is essential to examine the challenges that may arise during its implementation.

The Implications for Nigeria's Economy:
The revival of the National Shipping Line, spearheaded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, is expected to yield far-reaching benefits for Nigeria's economy. Firstly, it will significantly enhance the country's participation in international trade. By reinstating a national shipping line, Nigeria can regain control over its maritime transport, reduce reliance on foreign carriers, and strengthen its position in global trade. This will lead to increased revenue generation, improved trade balance, and heightened competitiveness on the international stage.

Secondly, the revival of the National Shipping Line will act as a key catalyst for job creation and employment opportunities. The maritime industry has the potential to generate a substantial number of direct and indirect jobs, ranging from seafarers and shipbuilders to logistics professionals and administrative staff. This boost in employment will contribute to reducing unemployment rates, alleviating poverty, and fostering economic growth across various sectors.

Furthermore, the revival of the National Shipping Line will encourage the development of ancillary industries. Shipbuilding, repair and maintenance, maritime education and training, and other related sectors will experience growth and expansion. This will attract foreign investment, promote technological advancements, and facilitate knowledge transfer, positioning Nigeria as a regional hub for maritime activities. Moreover, the development of coastal communities will be stimulated, leading to enhanced socio-economic conditions in these areas.

Challenges to Overcome:
While the vision to revive the National Shipping Line is commendable, it is essential to address the potential challenges that may emerge during the process. The following are key obstacles that must be effectively managed:

1. Financial Considerations: Establishing a competitive national shipping line demands substantial financial resources. The government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must ensure the availability of adequate funding and explore partnerships with private investors to finance vessel acquisition or leasing, port infrastructure development, and operational costs.

2. Infrastructure Development: Nigeria's maritime infrastructure requires significant improvements to accommodate the demands of a national shipping line. Upgrading and expanding port facilities, dredging channels, and establishing efficient intermodal transportation networks are crucial for seamless operations and smooth cargo movement.

3. Competitiveness and Efficiency: To compete with established international shipping lines, the National Shipping Line must prioritize operational efficiency, technology adoption, and adherence to international standards. Robust training programs, capacity building initiatives, and the implementation of best practices across the organization will be essential in this regard.

4. Policy and Regulatory Framework: Streamlining maritime policies, enhancing regulatory frameworks, and eliminating bureaucratic hurdles are critical to creating an enabling environment for the National Shipping Line's success. The government should prioritize the enactment of favorable legislation, promote transparency, and establish effective governance mechanisms.

In conclusion, the proposed revival of Nigeria's National Shipping Line under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds immense promise for the country's maritime sector and the overall economy. The revival of the National Shipping Line represents a significant step towards harnessing Nigeria's maritime potential and driving economic growth. By establishing a competitive shipping line, Nigeria can leverage its abundant resources, enhance international trade, create employment opportunities, and stimulate the growth of ancillary industries. However, the government must address the challenges of financing, infrastructure, competitiveness, and regulatory frameworks to ensure the success of this ambitious endeavor. With proper planning, strategic partnerships, and diligent execution.

All anti government systems practices continue with your hateredness.
PPP the new governmental establishments system is the major solution to our so called 📞 Public establishment practices.
Till this moment where is the then Nigeria Naval 🇳🇬 services, the then Nigeria Airlines not even to talk of NNPC?. But if all these are brought into P P P Public Private Practice, it will become a good money making establishments systems for both the government and Public enterprisers.
A good 👍 case in point is in Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Airlines and Ethiopian Naval systems are the major money making machines for the government and public enterprisers.
So the new administration should continue with their programmes and forget all the wailers and haters of Tinubu.

Try and understand the problems of Nigeria, I mean really do your research rather than join those expecting water from a Stone, and I can assure you will see that Tinubu needs far more than 6 months to first steady the ship and then begin guiding her forward.

The more reason I am giving a year so that if we are yet to feel the benefits of his leadership then we can at least see the signs of positivity.

Best thing to do bro. We should give Tinubu what amounts to decent time to work and improve our situation.

Yet citizens too must all contribute their oversight duty of holding the Tinubu government to account with constructive criticism because genuinely progressive people are not interested in being proven right or wrong about leaders and individuals.

Genuinely progressive folks simply want better lives, better society and better standards of living. They therefore don’t get attached to dogmatically defending or demonizing any leader. They focus on the changes and solutions they want to see.

Why can't onne take pharmaceuticals, chemicals, electronics

Onne generates 200 billion handling only equipment and cars

Imagine what it would do with textiles, building materials, pharmaceutical, chemicals, electronics

Make all ports equal ... Let them compete

No serious person would invest in a shipping line with Nigeria

There are Nigerians ready to invest into shipping lines

I for one was working on getting a ship to carry cleared containers from Lagos to East

Right now it cost 3 million to move a container to East we would have delivered containers for 1 million to 1.5 million... Investment is ready but there is no fram work established to allow that

Shipping lines are not the reason for expenses

Would the government ships ship pharmaceutical products electronics to onne?

Why is this difficult to understand

Solvent extraction is a widely employed industrial technique essential for extracting oils from diverse oilseeds and raw materials. In this method, a solvent, often hexane, is used to dissolve and separate the oil from the solid components of the raw material. The solvent, having a high affinity for oils, efficiently extracts them, resulting in a solution rich in oil content. Following this, the solvent-oil mixture undergoes distillation, separating the solvent from the extracted oil. The resultant crude oil then undergoes additional refining processes to enhance its quality and purity. While solvent extraction is known for its efficiency, allowing for the extraction of a high oil yield, ongoing considerations about its environmental impact and health implications have spurred ongoing research into alternative extraction methods. Despite these discussions, solvent extraction remains a cornerstone in the production of various oils, meeting the diverse demands of industries ranging from food and cosmetics to biofuel production.

lmao bros first of all refineries are basically pumps, valves, columns, compressors, and heating and cooling system arranged in certain ways and with various configuration

That aside all Nigerian refineries have crude supply pipeline and product removal pipeline installed already even the waste products there is pipeline to pump them to the petrochemical plants built near each refinery

. I would take it you have no engineering or economics background

Refineries in Nigeria can't work because we sell petrol at a loss ... So we have absolutely no economic comparative advantage to refine here

You don't need ship for anything in the refinery process as far as Nigeria owned refineris are concerned
