Why Does 4th Street Red Wine have an expiry date by iykbethany(m): 7:12am On Nov 22, 2023 |
I really want to know why 4th Street wine has an expiry date. I have many other red wines such as Four Cousins, Kargo, Argo, Carlo Rossi, Hedelberg, Escudo Rojo, Lambrusco, Apothic, Baron Romero and none of them has an expiry date except 4th Street Red wine. What could be the reason? 1 Like |

missjekyll: Most wines do not have any expiration dates. In fact, typical red wines are supposed to get better with time. Hence, aging of wines. But recently, many fruits aside grapes have been used to make wines. Some of these fruit wines are finished on the sweet side, with low alcohol content. Any wine with alcohol by volume (ABV) lower than 10% need some form of preservative. The expiry date is an indication of when the effect of the preservative will wear off. Wines above 10% (12% in some regions) are self preserved. They require neither preservative nor expiry dates. Most 4th street wines are about 8%. Hence the need for preservative. 3 Likes |

About the 4th Street Red Wine—yep, it does have an expiry date. Even though wine can last a while, it doesn’t stay good forever. The expiry date usually tells you when to drink it to enjoy its peak flavor. After that, it might still be okay, but it might not taste as fresh or could change a bit. If you want to ensure you’re drinking good wine, checking that date is always a good idea. If you’re ever in the mood to explore other great wines, you might want to check out a place like a vietnam wine shop. They often have fantastic options to try out! |
