My BS Before pregnancy My first child was just one year and eleven months that February we were still planning his second birthday when dh and I had unprotected sex on election day I think Feb 15 or so,since the birth of our first child dh has been using CD and it has perfectly worked for us but that morning it was election day shops were locked, and we just found out we were out of protectives and we decided to do it like thatand after that I will take drugs after that day we still had sex in that month but it was protected but I forgot to use drugs till month end I was expecting period to come but it didn't and i remembered I had just one unprotected sex then I bought a strip and boom it was positive, before the day I tested positive my mum called me that her pastors wife told her that I will be pregnant and I shouldn't abort it that its risky for my life and I should pray that the journey wont take my life haaaaa so when I tested positive I just accepted my faith but I really wasn't expecting a baby yet cos I wanted my son to be at least three plus before any pregnancy so the journey started First trimester I had almost all pregnancy symptom nausea, fatigue tiredness I was looking black vomiting the only thing I could take was anything pepperish Second trimester Still experiencing all this symptoms till 20 week but the spitting didn't stop till I deliver I experienced an attack during this time I woke up one morning and was vomiting blood I prayed and use the oil at home till I could get myself the journey was not easy but I started getting my self back and was eating heavily Third trimester I started having slight back pain and other things were normal. Delivery day I started having contractions off and on from 37 weeks plus although not that painful so I thought I will deliver early not knowing I dey play At 40weeks one day I started having the contraction in the morning at round eight I was at work when it comes I just have the urge to pee with pains and menstrual cramp like the urge to pee confused me as that didn't accompany my first I endured it till we close at work at 4 I got home around 4:30 fed my son and did my normal chores till around 7 I wanted to start preparing our meal when I felt I couldn't anymore I just waited for dh cos he would soon be back I didn't want to call him he came in around 7:30 i told him how i was feeling,I had the urge to defecate and I did that likd two times before leaving so it delayed us we left home around past eight our road is bad so we trekked to the clinic we got there around past nine cos the place is far and I was relaxing as the contraction was high, the nurses asked me to lie on the bed to check how far am gone and lo and behold I was told I was full already that I should push at the next contraction haaaa I was like push ke I don't even understand that word again they kept on shouting at me I was just confused they gave me oxytocin on my legs and I nearly died screaming the pains was serious at the next contraction I just heard a baby's cry I didn't even push cos that one was just screaming but the nurses Sha helped me and the placenta followed immediately I gave birth around 9:40 pm that night. Glory to God for giving me that grace it can only be God. Fourth trimester This hot water massage is something o and my vd still hurts even without tear, baby is not stressing me yet B's submitted Signing out November 2023 I don hang boot make no baby locate me o Economy is not smiling 32 Likes |

Good morning everyone, pray we are all doing well with family. Congratulations to the mamas and papas in the house, and the mamas and papas still enjoying the bliss of pregnancy please continue to work and pray hard to get the non-traumatic birth experience you deserve. I am tagging some mamas and papas in the house who have shared their super amazing birth stories in 2023 to join me on Afribirther podcast. This is for us to converse on experiences, lesson learnt, advice, learn, gist on anything and everything. I think it would be beneficial for present and future generations in Nigeria and across Africa to establish a robust online repository for our collective birth and family narratives. I tried sending messages privately on nairaland but it seems you can't send a personal message to individuals on the forum. P.S.: If you incorporated a birth story before 2023 or didn't have the opportunity to share your birth story when your baby arrived, and you now wish to share your experiences or engage in discussions, I would truly appreciate hearing from you. Ayomikunkco: Ayomikunkco: Ayomikunkco: I will put u in prayers. The thing I dislike about western medical practice is how they play God in everything & their decision making process for their patients. In my own experience, they would have done the same to me. At almost 30 weeks pregnant, I started having this severe abdominal pain. It wasn’t labour pain. It was this very painful tiny bump that appeared at the right side of uterus. It was so painful that I ended up in the Emergency room. They ran every test & scan & found nothing. The dr said I had a tiny fibroid at the left side but it was too small to cause such intense pain. And what was weird is that they found the tiny supposed fibroid on the left side but I felt it on my right. It was strange. I didn’t believe I had fibroid cos before my pregnancy, I did HSG, scan and so on & they didn’t find any fibroid in my uterus so where did this spiritual fibroid come from? And why now? The dr was like the baby can come out now like thru CS but the chances of survival & other issues are high but she needed my consent to bring out the baby, premature. Nothing was wrong with the baby or me, just that pain so why would that clueless dr recommend CS? If she was the one in my shoes, would that be her first resort? Fool. I eyed her, hissed then told her that I would like to be discharged so I can go somewhere else for a 2nd opinion so she discharged me. They wanted to give me Morphine (narcotics) which can also cause issues for baby but I refused. The dr said she couldn’t give me Tylenol (paracetamol) cos it causes Autism in children & couldn’t give me Ibuprofen as well cos it causes heart defect in babies but offered me indocid (used as rat poison) in Nigeria. I refused of course. I went home in pain. I was crying for days. I couldn’t take anything for pain. Then I googled fibroid in pregnancy in black women & google brought me to this page on Nairaland. I started from page one of this page to read & the testimonies of other women especially from someone called @recruita (not sure if that moniker is still active) & her experience moved me to tears. The testimony is back at page 52 or 62 (not sure). I wish the admin of this page can cut off this page and start a part 2 once it gets to 2000 posts. The information on this page is so informative but it’s exhausting to get to page 6000. I read that testimony over and over & how prayerful she was and how drs wanted to make all wrong and bad decisions in her Case like tried to abort / terminate the pregnancy but she refused & ended up carrying her baby to term & having a healthy baby. I tapped into that testimony & entered prayer mode. I prayed & read my psalms for about few days & miraculously, the pain disappeared, never to return again till today. I am Catholic & in my time of distress, I did novena to St Gerald (a saint for expectant mothers) & novena to Jesus in the blessed sacrament. I did one novena in the morning & another in the evening. It was around day 3 of that novena that the Pain met away but I did the whole 9 days novena and that pain never came back. After I had my baby, I went for scan to look for that mysterious fibroid but it wasn’t found. When I pushed out my baby, I asked the dr if I pushed out any fibroid & she said no. My point of reference is: “be careful what decisions these ignorant drs entice u to make. Always consult with God. Pregnancy is a 9 month spiritual journey; a lot can happen along the way. 19 Likes |

Good afternoon expectant mummies and every other person in the house. I've been a guest reader for the past few days but decided to sign up on this platform today. I am 4 weeks pregnant and it has not been easy on me. I am unable to eat anything even though I'm always hungry. Even the little I force myself to eat, I vomit it few minutes after. My temperature is usually high and I experience body pain. I feel tired easily. I can't even take tea as well without vomiting it. Fruits are also the same. The only medications I am using is Ferobin Plus and Vitamin C as I'm told I can't use medications anyhow. Please I need help on how to stop this vomiting as it is making me very weak. Thank you. PS: This is my first pregnancy. 7 Likes |
