bigtt76: Hmm, the truth there is bias when it comes to recruitment. He was probably employed because because of the name of that firm and not because of anything. If u decide to put HCAor support worker in your cv, how does that correlate to the work in a bank? What people do is use Nigerian reference like that and still use it to cover employment gap. My classmate she uses her Nigerian firm till date and that is because she still works there but remotely. Using HCA may still be viewed as a gap as it is not in your field for some people. You can list it when doing documentation with the firm cos places like civil service will draw data from hmrc and you have to reveal everything. When putting reference state what you worked there as cos they will ask in which capacity and If it is a bootcamp state it there it is still up experience.my opinion though. Na God de help. Try civil service but even the civil service in recent times, there interview is somehow. They do blind recruitment but during interview they ask you if you are currently working for the civil service? To me that question alone can dictate the score you come out it. |

Hi friends. Naturally I'm someone who believes in hard work and stretching one's self to the limit to get things done. However, I think some of our people coming into the UK recently need to slow down a little! Too many sudden deaths recently, three that I am aware of. One student slumped last week in Scotland, he was doing two jobs plus make shift kabu kabu. Another just placed his head on a table for a short nap and never woke up, he was doing nights in a warehouse and support work on day shifts. The third slumped on a shop floor in a warehouse... The bills can wait please, everybody has a limit. All these run run is taking it's toll on the body, built up stress can be deadly! 9 Likes |

ehizario2012: Good advice but one that would be more effective if it was given at source - advising student applicants to keep and use their POF for what it's intended for. If they had the maintenance funds and fees they presented in their visa applications, then they might not need to work so hard - just the 20 hours stipulated in the immigration rules - and would hopefully avoid the extreme stress that is bound to arise from working to pay off fees and other debt while studying. Justwise and others have preached this for ages but are often ignored. 5 Likes |

Thanks guys. Just a follow up question. As we won't be stating she's a petty trader but a homemaker bla bla bla, is it okay to just put N1 in the spots where they asked how much spends each month and how much she hopes to spend during the visit. @eolme I get your point but she's not just coming for a social visit na for omugwo. So, one month won't cut it. babajeje123: eolme: Viruses: 1 Like |

lightnlife:put 1 naira or £1 if it is fully sponsored… this has wokred for all my relatives I have fully sponsored Pls on the form max write 1 month or 6 weeks as yesss circumstances change… if/when she gets her visa she can enact her real plan. You already said she is a petty trader, do not go on to make it obvious that she is intending to stay long and set her up as a candidate that has no genuine reason to return back to her home country… on a balance of probabilities she would be denied if she is perceived as such 6 Likes 1 Share |

For all those with AMEX cards, don’t forgot to redeem your Avios points for cheap flights. I just saw one now for £50 (plus 12,500 points) for next year. Lagos to London (one-way). 2 Likes |

lavida001: This is what I was trying to say, but it seems the guy has taken it upon himself to teach the landlord a lesson. I would leave the fight for another person except I get strength for reserve. If you know houses that have been reposesed because of tenants refusing to pay you go approach this issue differently. 1 Like |

justwise: Agreed, a mental health assessment should have been carried out which might have mitigated or cancelled his sentence. I wonder if perhaps they felt that if he was well enough to attend his classes, then he should have had sufficient mental capacity to understand the implications of the threats he was making. Or perhaps they just decided to take the quicker and cheaper route. |
