All things being equal, the stock should be trading below N1 because it is the only banking stock that recorded loss in 2023 Q3 despite the naira revaluation.

Have you sold? grin

UBA will not rise beyond N20 to N22 until market sees significant rise in dividends grin

Meanwhile it is witnessing very high trade volumes, some from insiders and perhaps local and foreign portfolio investors are accumulating shocked

I don't see any market correction in the horizon as long as the oil price stays strong above $70.

Stocks like UBA, many banks and a couple of other stocks have not reached fair prices. But a few stocks are trading in a PE bubble and may correct as investors and traders do their thing. The devaluation this year has propped up the valuation of many banks and reset share prices up in devalued Naira with not much to correct. However, for banks one needs to look out for potential rise in impairment charges that could lead to valuation losses and potential share price drops if it happens severely.

What do you feel about Zenith, Gtco, Mansard, Fidelity BUA cement and Dangcem?

Wait till market correction shows. How do you justify Neimeth doing over 30% within a week with ... if not TA.
Reason I can't thank BullBearMkt enough to opening my eyes to what was missing component in my trade setup.

We must also consider the impact of rampant inflation and currency depreciation.

Earlier this year, a bottle of plastic coke cost around 100 to 150, but now it's 250. Similarly, a bottle of Hero that used to cost 250 to 300 is now 500. Given these substantial increases in everyday goods, why shouldn't stocks also reprice?

While dividends may increase, the overall purchasing power of those dividends will be diminished. A phone that cost 115,000 early last year is now selling for 220,000 to 250,000. Yet, there's an expectation for stocks to remain or go back at their levels from five years ago.

Some predict a bear market, but only time will tell.

Yes, I'm witnessing the same pattern. I anticipate a breakout above the support level around 48 before the end of January. This could lead to a minimum ROI of 20%. However, I hope it doesn't dip to 32 before the breakout occurs.

I received a pay-off from Union Bank yesterday afternoon. I nearly shed tears of sadness. I obtained a loan of five hundred thousand naira in 2005, as a civil servant, and invested same on Union Bank shares, with no appreciable dividends declared, since then.
I was paid fifty thousand naira yesterday, for five hundred-thousand-naira investment in 2005. This is sad, and unfortunate. A discouragement on investing in shares, which I believe now should be for those who wish to trade in shares, and not for civil servants, who are thinking of life, after retirement.
Most of our investment on shares, between 2003 and 2008, were wasted by some Directors, of the quoted companies.

Sorry about that. I pray similar stuff won't repeat itself soon in NGX because the rate at which some moribund stocks are appreciating these days without fundamentals is worrisome.

I invested something similar around the same time. I think they gave back to back 1:3 bonuses for three years before that Calabar man misadventures. All in all, it was a good school fees to pay. I never bothered to recover anything that was left there

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Sadly, no matter how much warning or caution is given, school fees must be paid, it's like rent (renters or mortgage), everybody must pay at some point . Side note, do you care to share the meaning of the name AGBA-LOWO-MERI ?
