Good evening guys,
Please I need help. My emergency appointment was denied and my regular appointment is Jan 25th 2024, while my program start date is Jan 11th, 2024. What can I do? Thank you for you assistance

And please add me up to Lagos Embassy Interview group. 08034185691

Hey !

I want to suggest that you have exhausted your reschedule options hence your decision to opt for The emergency Appointment ?

Now , your emergency Appointment was denied and the reschedule Appointment option has disappeared in your portal right ?

IF I AM RIGHT , THEN HERE IS YOUR LAST RESORTS......

1. Combine your SEVIS receipt , MRV receipt and Form I 20 into pdf and use your FEED BACK option in your portal to request for nearer dates.

2. Call the CGI center and narrate your ordeal to them, you may find God's favour .

IF ALL DOES NOT WORK ..THEN ...

1. You have 19 days behind your resumption if you attend your current interview date ... WRITE a comprehensive email to your school to write an official email to you ..the email will authorize you to arrive late to school because of the Appointment issues . Print out the email and take it along to your current Appointment.

2. If you do not want to take the risk ..then DEFER YOUR ADMISSION to summer / fall 2024 and take the new Form I 20 to your current given date .

There is God ..don't give up.

Good morning family,

Please I need an urgent response, my US interview date is coming up later this month. The appointment was booked in 2021 when the backlog was much. Now I have relocated to another country, can I interview in the country where I presently reside or do I need to go back to Naija to do it?

Note: It’s a family application (Mom and Aunt) They are both in Nigeria.

Hey !

Your question is suspicious and funny . You are asking the public to let you know if someone is cancelling his student appointment date 😏

Okay ..let us simulate that i have a brother who is cancelling his Appointment date ... WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH THE CANCELLATION ?

If your brother needs Appointment he should keep checking on his CGI profile . Your brother cannot use someone's else Appointment. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE !!

Hey !

You cannot attend your present Appointment in another country because you have indicated when you were creating your CGI cum Appointment process that you want to attend it in Nigeria and you cannot retract that decision right now . You also indicated in the begining of your DS 160 that you want to attend your Interview in Nigeria .😊

THE SOLUTION

1. Come and join your family in Nigeria when the time is due and attend the interview together.

2. Cancel your current Appointment...buy another MRV in your current country , fill another DS 160 and indicate in the begining of the DS 160 the country of your choice (you re leaving your mom and aunt behind or they join your present country ).

If you re capable and chanced ...why not come back to Nigeria and have your Interview ? Don't complicate issues yourself....just a suggestion oo and if it doesn't go well you can move back to your location ?

There's God. Don't give up.

Hey !

2x2 white background .

1. Mock interview is better physically . If you have gotten the possible questions and answers then a closer friend or family member can stand as your coach. That person will have to study your body languages , consistency in your answers , endurance etc.

I viewed an online (virtual) mock session last week, the young lady involved was sitting on her bed with a bottle of coca cola beside her , while she was also eating cracker biscuits in between the virtual mock training 😊

Thank you.

Hey !

I want to think that your Form I 20 kind of indicates your sponsor indirectly ? If what is written on your Form I 20 is FAMILY FUND then follows your I 20. Your brother and your uncle are still your family but why don't you merge the 2 together ?

Use the financial statement of your uncle (as an older family member) and leave the rest . Don't say my uncle and my brother . VOs like specification . But if they re jostling for your academic upkeep then you can say I HAVE JOINT SPONSORS and take their financial statements along .

Hey !

US embassy doesn't evaluate your financial capability or ability like those of Canada , UK and Australia.

If i were you , i will tell the VO thus ;

I have joint sponsors ...my uncle together with my brother and they have deposited their financial quotas into my personal account . They are both businessmen . Even if they deposited the money today it doesn't mean any bad. Who deposited the money and genuineness of the Account is what matters to the VO.

Besides , i doubt if the VO will even ask for your financial statement. They judge you psychology and merge all your claims together and decide if you are on track or derailed .

They do look at bank statements for the most part. In more than 50 percent of cases. A huge one time deposit few days before an interview is a red flag regardless of the source.

Yes.. cos they would think that a huge deposit is not seasoned and structured. A structured biz acc gets structured inflow and outflow. One-time huge deposit would constitute a red flag.

I would go with my sponsors’ biz accounts instead of my account… if they’re my I-20 sponsors.

I have my uncle statement of account(biz acct) but my bro already deposited the money into my acct and it's not a huge deposit at once. Like 500k, 1m at once till the money was complete.

Hey !

I don't think anyone will answer your question accurately because the question itself is incomplete .

Looking for Graduate Assistantship with 2.2 GPA depends on what faculty and which department because if your 2.2 enters department of History then it may not be acceptable at the faculty of social sciences 😊

In this respect, search for good universities in the US, send an enquiry email to your desire departments and ask them this same question. They will be willing to give you appropriate answer . No one here can give you accurate or specific answer .

So your family is pulling funds together for your study. I’d elevate my immediate family-mum,dad, siblings over my uncle’s… but you should be articulate with numerical facts abd figures .. how much your bro earns in a month… his net income not gross. If you have an accounting background or an accountant as friend/family.. they could help with quarterly income/loss statement.. 2-4 qtrs should be OK.. then you need to include in your financial defense when it comes. It’s better to be fully prepared than to be under prepared.
