On this thread, there are people who were claiming he's an Igbo man

They are partly right but are probably ignorant. The native language spoken in Bonny and Opobo is mostly Igbo but the nomenclature and other things are mostly Ijaw and where they live is Ijawland not Igboland. There has never been a time they were considered Igbo but what has always been known is that larger part of the population came from Igboland either as slaves, mercenaries or traders with Ijaws.

The native language is not igbo, its Ijaw please be guided. If you lean to history for a bit, King jaja of opobo who apparently found Opobo was called Jubo Jubogha.(has no meaning in Igbo language) The opobo people are referred as from a sub tribe of igbo land(Just cos they existed in Igbo land does not make them igbo)They where referred to as the Ndoki people back then approx. 1870

Im from Rivers via my Mum, and No one in my house says they are igbos. nah so dem do Wike treat their F up. I support fubara over wike on this issue.
Fubara should minimize his tribal incitement. Lots of Igbos are from Rivers in many factional forms.
Rivers history did not start from after the civil war. Many igbos had to run to the SE, or hide and save their selves during and immediately after the war.


Anyway, I think fubara should be wise, face wike. Do your work as a leader. Talk back to wike from your pulpit loudspeaker. Tell wike that you are the current leader of Rivers; .But don't start tribal politics because it will be tribal. Don't let those upper region people use you to divide Rivers.

Wike, let fubara lead in peace. He is the leader.
